Shocker done the best in street 1-2. I can think of 5 competitors off the top of my head that were using them.

There were several JL, and Planet Audio vehicles, and they all placed well.

Yes, I was very excited about obtaining full sposorship for '02. The Basstubes are now available with internal Class D amplifiers, and the HUs with 4V preout. See you in the lanes!

I think I can answer that...the van is louder than ever and with less than half of the subs...however, it will make its debut at either Audio Thunder or SBN next year! You will have to wait till then to see the numbers...Sorry, its a secret

Chris had 9 15 and 18 amps. We had 9 12 and 9 amp and only 9 batts. We were .3 db behind him in qual and .6 in elim. It Ain't the Equip its the install. Guarentee in any class You could do almost the same but with different equip. Can anyone disagree?

I agree. But I also would be willing to bet any amount of $$ that if we replaced the subs in the blazer with shockers it would get louder
Take the Bet ?????

If you bring them we will try it. But, I gaurantee it won't even do a 150. Nothing wrong with the subs, there is just something wrong with the Blazer.

I think that the install is a very large factor, likey up to 98% of the overall output...would you agree?
However, when you are talking about 170 dB, even 2% could be 3.4 dB...In my opinion, that could be the difference in taking first and not making brackets! So in rebuttle, I would have to respectfully disagree with you and say that the equipment you use is very important...
Chris may not have taken the gold, but he did do well given the circumstances...and besides...If you look at his history, he gained nothing from going from 9 amps to 18 amps...His interior had reached its limits and there was no room for advancement without a rebuild...Again, just my opinion, but for a system that was built over a year ago, and for a class that no longer exists...I think Chris did pretty good! You are quick to judge him, but he was the world champ just last year! In fact, he even held the record in the 9-12 extreme this year as of SBN!
There is no doubt that shocker audio had an awesome competition season this year and the proof is right here on termpro in black and white...
9 records broken by shockers in 2001 25 trophies at world finals 3 world championships
That is more than any other woofer period! We worked our butts off to get some respect and prove that we have a rightfull place in the competition arena...Don't try to tarnish that by saying that any equipment could do the same numbers...that simply isn't true and you should know it! If it is, then a challenge you to use all pyramid products next year...and I want to see that wolrd championship tittle sitting next to it!

we all know why this is!!!
right tom!
trust me, i have been in this business for a long time, and if it's one thing i have learned, you can put any woofer in your car and make it work, but the enclosure is what makes it loud!!
give me the best shocker/Atomic Thunder driver and i'll pick mine and i bet they are within' .2 db in the optimum boxes i make for them in our truck!!!
when was the last time you saw a mmats rep come on here and tell everyone that their woofer will beat up on any other driver?
NEVER
the reason shocker took so many trophy's at finals is cause they more than likely had 2x as many competitors at finals than anyone else did, and if you have 8 people in a class that is only allowed 16 then you have pretty good chances of taking a couple trophy's home
rockford had a small contingent of people @ finals, maybe 1/4 that of shockers. but probably 75% of their competitoras took trophy's home!!
anyways i am starting to get off what i really wanted to say!!
i like shocker, they make wonderful woofers and i have met mike ankey and he is a very nice person, all i know is that it makes me wonder if anyone is in this for fun anymore or if it's just another advertising tool aimed at ripping people off !!!
charging $3000,00 for a woofer is a rip off!!
i don't care how you look at it!
my 2 cents

The reason they took home so many trophies? Is because they have more competitors than anyone else per class.
Pretty amazing for a 1 man operation Imagine what would happen if Mike got some help. O wait he just did
Maybe in 2002 We will take 1/2 of all the trophies.
Dont diss Mike cause 80% of his cars there walked away with top 8 finishes. Dont hate cause the 1 man operation took more trophies than the Multi-Billion dollar companies.
Basically it comes down to this Jay.
If ya dont like Shockers, Guess What.
HAHA
Dont buy them.
But dont be swoll when you loose to them.
Ben
