What hz filter should be being used? I question this because at the May 8th comp. at Car tunes he was using a 100 hz filter.

Well Big Man... Let me answer your question since no one else has.

That show was a joke. Their is no way jasons car only hit 141 with 8 15s, 6 MTX 2300s and a totally fiberglass interior. And then a car with 2 tens and 400 Watts hit 139. My advice is to never attend one of their shows. They had the same guy from chicago run it last year with same problems.

To answer your question DB Drag is 80 HZ and Iasca is 100 Hz. I asked him about the filter and he said he had just heard of the 80Hz thing the day before. Many shows that I have gone to this year have not used any filter.

The 80 Hz bandwidth limit is not required at local events.

At the National level, we monitor the input during the competition. There is no filter, per-se. We only ensure that your highest SPL occurred at a frequency of 80 Hz or lower.

The proof is in the puddin. Jason Mund's Riviera is indeed louder than 141db. At the Circuit City show in Pontiac he hit 151db netting a close second place. Congrats Jason.

IMHO, Car Tunes of MI. should not hold db drag events. For 3 years they have had the same person running the meter and for 3 years the show has been anything but accurate. I wish i remembered the name of the guy who did the show so no one else would get stuck like Car Tunes did.

To all who attended this show I would give this advice.
DONT GO BACK!

This will send a message to the shop and tell them to clean things up so our sport doesn't get any bad press.

Thank you.

Thank to you all I agree with Custom I know Jason's Car can put up the numbers I mean that guy with the ranger had his metered the night before he said it was on term pro I think. But he said he metered at 152 or 53 something like that then he pulls in the lane and bam 143 yeah I don't think so Chuck.

Hey Custom, Is your show still happening on the 3rd?

What are you going to run now, since I see your van is for sale?

Has anyone ever heard if their Iasca show is a joke too? I know that they hold one every year. I know some people that were planning on attending, I would hate for them to go and find out it is a sham... I imagine someone else will run it though.

That's the name. Audiosmith. What a joke. Hey Josh, how would you have liked to travel to that show only to post 143db? That sure would suck.
BTW the van for sale is just one of two. My black & grey Safari is still under construction.
