Okay as we are finally getting are new equipment in "finally is the big word" I notice a very large change. MP3 is in alot of players. Now I realize this will not be a major factor for a few years but for instance rockford has a new mp3 changer that works off of memory cards. I would not mind getting on of this so I could burp my system without having to build a outside stand for a cd-player to avoid skipping. Would I or other be allowed to convert the tracks from the db drag cd to mp3 files so I could load them on rockfords mp3 changer? That way I would not have to worry about skipping, scratched cd's ect... ect... Anyway I thought this needed to be addressed before it was brought up in the lanes. Any and all comments are welcome. Thanks!

In all multi-point events (double pointer, triple pointer, and finals) dB Jams Volume 4 must be use (no exceptions) as stated in the rule book.

At all single point events you may use any kind of recorded music. You may also use any kind of "player" you like as long as it was ment for 12 volt operations.

You may use the Rockford MP3 Changer because this was made for 12 volt operation.

Hope this helps.

Yes that is true BUT what im saying is in the near future "or at least I think" people will not be using cd-players anymore rather they will use large capacity mp3 players. Get what Im saying?

Until the mp3 players become mainstream I think we'll have to stick with what we do now.

Typically, issues like this are addressed right after the finals, during rules discussions.

You might want to bring this up during that time. I dont see it becoming a problem for some time. I am guessing the trend will be for a Head unit to play CD's that are traditional, and/or MP3 encoded.

In the future, maybe Wayne will offer a MP3 format.
