there are 3 triple pointers on the same day...just wondered what everyone thought. i think there is good and bad.... bad: hurts turnout at all 3. last year al carlisle we had people from the southeast who are now gonna go to NC, and people from out in the midwest who will now stay out there. there may be the same amount of cars there, but it wont be the 'big dogs' vehicles as much if they have anyplace closer to go. and the good: keeps people that CAN travel from killing those of us who cant in points. if they were on say 3 consecutive weekends one persn could nail 72 points in 3 weeks if they went to all 3. this way people cant do that, and i think the good here far outweighs the bad and i think it's a good plan to have them on the same weekend.

I just think it will hurt turnout, due to the fact that people wont come to show A, if show B is closer. The really kewl part about triples is seeing all the vehicles from all over the country, and that just wont happen this year.

Agreed. But hey maybe this well cause a bigger turn out at finals?!?!
Maybe Wayne is looking at the Big Picture here.
Last year we complained about not enough 3x'ers now we are complaining they are all on the same date.

We think its great, it makes it easier on the local boys to compete. And it keeps the really big boys, and competitors better able to travel, from running around and getting all the points, and big trophies.

I think it will cause a lot of disputes about high/low mics in certain parts of the country. Also some things may be deemed legal on the coast and deem illegal in the Midwest, it relies heavily on the Judge at each event as well. I think overall it will hurt more than it will help.

We really didn't plan to host a 3x on the same day as everyone else. In fact, if the good folks at Carlisle hadn't moved their event to the first weekend in May, we'd have been happy to do it on the third weekend, just like last year. I know I'll miss seeing the big dogs from all over but this show is a little out of our control as far as timing goes.
I do know that we will have calibraters at our show. Two lanes seems to be confirmed at this point too. Should be real smooth.

Wayne Purchased 4 calibrators. They are extremely accurate. All multi-point judges will have been instructed on how to use them.

We are planning on having 3x events almost every weekend this summer. Right now, we're just trying to find the right venues.
The events taking place on this particular weekend are several states away from one another at a minimum. We don't feel that the impact to any one show will be significant.
Brantley will officiating the SC event. Sam Horn (Equalizer) will be officiating in Carlisle, and I will be in MO. We have all worked together on numerous occasions and I feel very confident that officiating will be concise, strict, and equitable for all of the events. All 3 events will be verified with our calibrators before and during the event.
Let this be your notice, if you are uncomfortable ANY aspect of your installation and its legitimacy with regards to the rules, you should correct the item in question now. We will be performing 100% audits at these events, and if past experience means anything, a significant number of competitors may be reclassified after inspection.
Everyone have a safe trip.

Wayne,
How about having those "clarifications" from the spring break shows so we all can make sure that we are ok.

I just did a search and couldn't find anything on the clarifications. How bought a link for the computer challenged people like me.

Sorry Bob. What I meant to say was that after officiating three 3x events, we currently don't believe any clarifications are required. The rules seem to be holding up pretty good this season and the officials are going "by the book".
Thanks for the offer to assist in MO. I can use your help. This would also probably give you a better "feel" for the officiating.
See you in MO.
