subs......... If you did power I would think clamping would be more fair than rated, but it takes longer than local people might want to mess with. Then again as a dealer it might help with sales when they realize there 1000 watt amp only puts out 200 watts.

Unless its the dealer's 1000 watt doing the 200 watts
OR
if the dealer's high quality 1000 watt amp gets beat by the 'guys down the road' cheap ass 4000 watt amp that does 1000 watts ( still in the 1000 watt clamped class )
Both are bad senarios for the dealer putting on the show using clamped power

and customer's might be upset by the fact that once box rise comes in, their expensive, good brand, true 1000W amp is only putting 550W to the subs. they'll think they got ripped off, or that it's not as good as they thought... simply because they don't understand how things work

I had that happen to me in a local show... It sucked.

When I was walled with 2 18's had a guy with a little suv like a kia with 1 1e spank my by a db....I didn't like it, but he was cool and even gave me pointers....when I was running outlaw I didn't have a team...just solo.... Missed out on lots of good stuff...I want it to be fun and get people back into the sport in the NW its just nothing like it was down south...I want to do my own comp and test the waters to see if it makes any sents to do a sanctified show

Most local shows I see, (and I do about 25 a year), I hear newbies complaining about being in a class with a wall. They don't even want to go against that because they assume it is louder.
if you don't have walls around you, then move on. But the guy who posted below me--those classes make sense for a local show.

Well if a wall shows up they will jump to next level....sound fair? Just put the word out on open dates for the fair grounds and guys r getting xcited....and 1st place get 30% 2nd get 20% and 3rd gets 10% of the class pot...the rest will HELP cover the rental of the fair grounds
