You know, as soon as I typed that...I realized that Zed Audio made the Crunch amps. Along with HiFonics, Rodek, and Autotek.
Rodek...how many of you guys remember those puppies?

Honestly for a budget setup in the 80's Alphasonik amps and a couple Pyle 12's were a great choice for cheap bumps.

Alphasonik was made by ZED at that time , infact I think ZED made everyone at one time or another lol, but I think it was 90's, nm I see it was ZED that made them in the ninties :

When I first got started I had a pair of Realistic (Radio Shack) 10s on a Coustic 100A. Everyone throught the subs were Alpines without the writing on the dust cap.
Also for a nice cheap system you could have run Sherwood or Majestic.

Back In the Day you were doing it big If you had Soundstream on your highs and Rockford on your lows. Alpine or Blaupunkt head units (Preferably pull out so you could show out at the mall on friday nights)

Wasnt it "Aria" sometime between that transistion as well?
yes
Aria was a Fultron line of speakers. there were the depth chargers, aria, etc.
The cool Aria speaker was a point source driver that had the tweeter in the voice coil of the mid. When done right it gives you perfect phase between the mid and the tweet. That speaker was done right. It was a very nice SQ front stage set up. Came in a 6 1/2" and 8" version.
I talked to the people at Memphis about this recently. No real plans to bring back something like that

One of my first "big" amp was a G&S Designs 150 x 2...with the jazz music graphics on it. Looked like THIS . I think I remember reading that they were made by someone else...PPI maybe? It was 2 ohm stable and very clean...it beat the crap out of four Kicker Comp 15's.
I don't know when they started making them, but mine was in a 1991 car so I didn't own it in the 80's.
My brother and I were big on Coustic, MTX, and Pyle Driver in the 80's.
