In a couple weeks...for the past five years Ive been bass less and having to get my fix either by riding in my friends gator with a 9515,my other friends 02 ext chev pick-up with 2 10" idmax,or sometimes my little brothers jeep with a Fi Q 18" . hell my mom has a 10" idqv3 in her car!!!!! but me nothing I havent had a stereo in either of my trucks because all my rigs were going to be used off-road so I didnt feel the need to install a knarly system in a vehicle that I'm thrashing. Until I purchased a 95 4dr tahoe this summer. I bought a Fi Q 18 with the intent of using it. After some thought I decided that I was going to want more so I purchased an 18" BTL during christmas time. I "sold" my little bro the Q to fund the rest of my stereo build. I told him he could buy an amp before he paid me. I even built him a box with wood that I had bought. He bought a hifonics bxi 1206d but has never paid me for the sub and its been 4 months. Well today he was like you can have your sub back I dont need it anymore and you can "use" my amp too he said So of coarse tonight after work I rushed home and took out all his wiring/amp and sub and now its sittin in my garage waiting to be installed. All I need is a deck which I will be buying in the next couple weeks I'm going with an eclipse cd5000.Oh yeah as far as the BTL goes it sits on a table in my room never used waiting to be traded for a nice 2000w+ amp or some cash so if anyone is interested let me know!!!

Nice dude, its always exciting gettin a new system. Build a big box for that and itl slam! just be careful with the amp, the clipping could cause the sub to break...happened to me after a couple months of running my 18xxx off of a JL 1000/1

I built a box for my bro's jeep . Its 7.5 cubes tuned to 30hz with I believe 95sqin of port...Not quite sure but I have the box diagram in a folder in my truck. So I'm using that box for now see how it sounds in the hoe. Subs&port facing up. If needed I'll build a new one. The amp is rated at 1200rms but I know its not putting out that much so... and the sub is rated at 1000rms. I think its a pretty good combo. No need to set the gain high at all.
