so been slingin some ideas around on subs and here is what im thinking.

instead of doing two 15" L7s just for the aw factor im thinking more along the lines of four 8 inch L7s

anyone played with the kicker L7 8 is it a good 8 inch sub? thanks folks.

I'd stick with 2 15's. You are looking at about 450 square inches of cone with the two 15's, and about 250 for the four 8's.

I haven't played with the 8's before, but I did have a set of L7 10's, which were a lot of fun. Also in my opinion, the 2 15's would get more aw factor.

Good luck.

The kicker L7 8" is a pretty stout little eight and you get close to the surface area of a 10" round. I've always wondered how the tang band 8's would do. You could probably do 4+ tangband's for the price of the l7's. Just a thought.

I used the L5 8's once and they were pretty impressive for 8's. If you wanna look at 8's you might wanna look at the True Bass 8's. My buddy, Justin Thornton swears by them and they are some beefy 8's.

Alumapro offers an 8 that can handle close to 1000 watts RMS So I am told. You have to call them and ask them about it. This is not someting they offer too your everyday dealer. I have seen two of them with 500 watts RMS on each in small sealed box. Slammed for Sealed Box.
