And Im looking for a few more ideas that I currently have to talk about. Its supposed to be 15 min and I need some things to fall back on in case I end early.

So far im talking about the history (briefly), why I got into it, my old and current setups (and while doing so I plan on talking a bit about the science behind Sound and Electricy ie. Dbs and Ohms law), and a bit about IASCA USACI etc.

Anything worth talking about to a bunch of people who know nothing about Car Audio?

Cancellation, standing waves, sound dampening, fiberglass, when stereo first came out and sound became a million times better, imaging, crossovers, seperate midbasses/tweeters making sound better, coaxials, capacitors, alternators, power cable, different wiring configurations and theyre resistance changes (probably would want to put this with ohms law n such), different channel amps and their functions, bridging channels on amps, materials used in installation (2-part foam, fiberglass, body filler, paints, carpetings, sound deadener, building techniques for enclosures, etc.), extra batteries, grounding, distribution blocks, fuses, processors, enclosures (the different types and the basics about them, how volume and tons of different factors make a difference), terminals, integrated systems such as neons that flash with the beat, etc.

Hope thats enough, haha. Though theres more...

15 mins... no prob. If you didn't meet your time, just make sure to allow your audience a chance to ask questions. I'm sure someone will ask something.

Good luck with it buddy, I'm sure you'll knock it out the park.

i did a speech on a similar topic last semester. i focused on technological advancements in mobile electronics. this included class d pwm type amplifiers and their pros and cons, OEm integration, new materials used in production, hybrid technology from rockford (which is extremely interesting once you research and understand it.) it turned out to be a hit.

at 194 dB a lethal, overpressure shockwave is created. The Navy has Sonar that hits 220 dB.
The top cars in competition are just about 180 dB

33 hz is the Clitoral resonance.
7 hz is the rectal resonance.

I might use those resonances just for ****s and giggles. Im comparing my close to 140 to a jet engine at 10 ft also.

Mention that doubling the equipment in a 130dB system is not gonna get you 260dB, and the difference between max power and RMS of amps and speakers. I hate it when manufactures slap their max power rating on their amps to fool the fools, like RF's Punch 301s(300 watts RMS but the badge says 900 watts) and Pioneer's GM lines of amplifiers.

www.howstuffworks.com has a link on how speakers work. I think for a class that knows nothing about audio that's as far as I would go. Compare/contrast between a speaker, a fan, and the opposite, a generator.
