I've done a several boats. For the most part there the same, except you have to run ground back to the batteries.

yep, its just easier cuz you have more room

i did one boat install and it sucked. especially where we put the amps was a PITA to get too. if it is a wakeboarding boat like i did for my buddy then good f'in luck trying to run wire down inside the tower. like an idiot he didnt get them pre-ran to save money so we had to do it and it took us FOREVER!!! you can check out most of the install here... http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/index.php?showtopic=2196&hl=amatt85&st=0

Boats pose a lil bit more of a challenge when running wire. It's no longer just under the carpet, you might have to drill a couple of wire run holes when doing runs in the hull. And as already mentioned, you have to run a seperate ground directly to the battery.
Just double check where you are drilling and screwing into and you should be good to go.
