I'll just ignore the troll from hereon since a few of you are somewhat interested in what I have to offer you.
Ber, The MAW-12 was designed to be a Peerless XLS killer. At approximately the same Xmax and less than a quarter the price. I hear you about the depth - unfortunately both MAW-10 and MAW-12 measure 5" and 5.5" respectively. You then must add additional clearance for the vented pole piece to breath.
Sean, You really can't go wrong, especially for the price.
Loyd, Turd? LOL! That's funny... It's hard to say just exactly how these units will function in hard core SPL races. I just don't have the power available to test them in this way...
05 obs et al, I'm nearly done with measuring the MJ-18's and will be posting the responses on the website. I was suppose to do the SPL test yesterday, but my mic is not calibrated for SPL and my friend who has a SPL meter wasn't around. Will keep you all posted once I get it done. I will then move on to the MAW-10/12 units next.
Best regards, Mark

Sounds like your more interested in whats in my pants then his product.
I was able to finish my tests on the MJ-18, and have posted the results at the web link below. I leave it to you to determine if they will work in your high SPL environments.

radioshack meters suck and arent even close if you want a lowerpriced meter that is right on with termpro go to www.splmeters.com. i am no way conected to them i just have bought one from them and it is a very nice piece for $150.
like the looks of the beefy sub ya got then on the first pix, sweet.
what will the 18 do with 1k rms. cause nobody is gonna only put a ouple hundred watts to a sub that size. with a 3" coil it has to handle some power...

I know, why don't you buy a couple and test out your new meter?
Why do you think a bigger sized coil automatically means it would handle more power? This is an urban myth. Power handling has little to do with voice coil size.
Anyone can take the chart I posted on the site and calculate expected SPL levels for higher power. There's no need to put thousands of watts into it to determine that.

cant running 15s, plus i dont think they would like around 6k rms, lol.
well when looking at a vc the first things ya look at is the diameter, wire diameter and length of winding.
no you cant just calculate dbs because there is alot of factors. such as cabin can, subs holding up under extream pressure, vc burning up, power compression.
this is a spl forum we would just like to see some real power on one and it's limitations...

power isn't an issue... if the 20.1 @ 1 ohm don't swing it.. the 4000.1 will

NOBODY thats serious about being loud is going to purchase a speaker based on "A charted measurment" This is the real world guy and who nowaday runs less then 500 watts to their speakers anymore?
People want something thats going to handle some power so do some "real" test with some "Real" power and show us those results.

are you really going to put a 20.1 on 2 of those subs? they are like a 250w rms subs. wonder how long they will last.

Let me know how your tests go (More interested in their sq, so do some subjective listening before you wang on em for output). They're cheap enough for me to consider throwing a whole bunch of them in the back of my exploder for daily.

they'll be babied through subjective listening.. then I'll turn up the power until I run out, or they go ow...

hey mark, i commend you for being a company owner who actually got on here to explain his product marketing and defend his product. that means something from a company, and i havent seen a lot of other owners (iraggi, dd, etc etc) do the same when their product or customer service was being bashed. and just so everyone knows, my man dan of team daily is going to receive one of these 18s for testing in about a week i think. you probably talked to him mark. and yes, well start off low, but well probably end up giving it 4000 watts and tell you what it can do for burps on different power levels. if i like what i see, im getting a whole lot of 12s. more power to you mark.
