I was installing my inline fuse connectors this weekend and broke both of my 300a anl fuses. It will be 3 days before I can get any more 300a fuses from knukoncepts. NOWHERE around town has anything larger than 200A. I am trying to get setup for bassrace and it was suggested to use 2 300A inline fuses with my 2 yellowtop batts. 1 under the hood one in the trunk. I have a test and tune in town tuesday night,,,,I NEED FUSES TO HAVE POWER. Would 200 be ok, or do I need to wait for the 300's to show up? setup, Iraggi 280 alt 2 yellowtop, powerbass 3000d, mt 18, 2/0 ga throughout.

what i wanna know is how the he77 you burnt up 2 300amp fuses?!
2x 200 will be MORE than sufficient....that is, of course, only if you don't plan on draining your elec. system to 10volts and below...after that, expect wire/fuse holder meltage, voltage spikes & blown gear....thank the yellow tops for that.

He didn't say he blew them. He said he broke them...... If he blew the fuses that easily something is wrong. I was going under the assumption that he broke them not blew them

(2) 200amp fuses should be more than sufficient to hold him over with the gear he's running....that's why i'm curious how the phucking hell he 'broke' two 300's

If you are physically breaking fuses trying to install them----yes I would suggest taking the entire system to a shop to have it looked at and repaired--because I guarantee that isn't the only issue. I don't even know how you "break" a fuse.

The fuses broke, I had them screwed into the fuse holder and when I went to screw the end caps on, I guess something was messed up with the threads because you had to twist the ends REALLY hard to get them to start connecting. the fuse just sheared off at the end, I did not blow them, I was just installing everything trying to get it ready for a show on Thursday night. But at the moment, I am having bigger issues thatn the fuses, it seems I can't find anyone around town that will install my new Iraggi alternator. go figure.

I had the same problem, with a knukonceptz fuse holder. The ends were very tight to get on once the fuse was in, never broke one though.
Don't know the rules of the event, but if it means that much to you, just jump it with some thick wire to make the show and be extra observant.

I am in montgomery, but I think the problem is solved, Dom suggested someone to install it for me. so I am gonna go there, should be no problems. Now I guess I won't be able to make the show this week,,, but I got DB drags starting up next month that I know for a fact I will be ready for.. Damn shadetree machanics got scared when I told them what the amperage was in the Iraggi they started trying to scare me with "you gonna melt yuuur engine if dat regulator goes out. so, no I will not be using them to install it. Either way thanks for all of the help, guys, my new 300A fuses should be here today and I will be able to get the alt installed this weekend.
