i have two woofers with DVC. the VCs have been measured and seems to be ok, and they look ok (not burned or anything).
when i have the VCs in series, and the woofers in parallell, they move just the same.
when i have the VCs in parallell and the woofers in series, they move just the same, exept at around 16-18Hz, where one of them move about twice as far.
i also tried to switch the phase, but the same happend. it have been tested bouth with and without an enclosure.
does anyboddy know why this is happening?
i have lately had problems with my zapco 9.0 that have been going into short protect when i playt loud at many songs, but i can burp fine (tested from 30-80Hz). is it possible that there may be a connection between these problem?
thanks.

Although it is unrelated to your VC issue, a side-view diagram of the inside of your enclosure (sub/port setup) would aid in finding a resolution to your problem.

i just found out that one of the woofers have twice as high QMS and z-max as the other woofer.
also, the woofer with the highest QMS value had a little bit lower QEL and QTS value.
the impedance curve look about the same though, exept that one of the woofers had twice as high z-max.

if so id either try to sale the cheaper one and buy another of the better, or sale both, buy somethin that matches, or one real good sub
i wouldnt run them if they are different

no, they're the exact same woofers. (pioneer 121SPL) they have been repaired though, so they have new CVs. but all the woofers shuold still have the same parameters as it's the same spider and suspencion used on all of them.
i just got back my 3rd from repair now (new CV, Again ), and it's waiting for me at the post office. when i get it on saturday i'll hopefully have something to compare with, so i can find out wich of the woofers that are different.
but still, i can't understand how this could happend in the first place?

Ok.. I have an idea about the problem you got..
Does the two woofer are symetrical in the enclosure?
Normally, if you have a different path foreach woofer, the reflection inside the box is not the same..
Ex.. a box with 2 12" with dimension of 14x14x28
and the port placed at one end of the box .. in this case, one of the woofer will have a different impedense curve cause one is near the port and the other is in the back of the box..
And due to the serie wiring between those 2 Woofer, one will affect the other. One of those will be stiffer then the other more soft.
The symetry inside the box is very important!
I dont suggest you to wire in serie any woofer!
Cause the error or the imperfections of one will affect the other.

i see. when i had them in parallell, they were the same. so i guess it's not a problem, since i normally run 3 woofers, and them connect them in parallell. and i never play that low anyway, i just happend to notice it when i did some testing.
they were symetric in the enclosure, and i've also tested them separatly outside of the enclosure with the same result.
the impedance curve looks the same on bouth.
