My system was A clarion dxz845mc.. 2 05 kicker compvr 15's... a kicker kx850.2 in a 91 cavalier.. well someone broke my window and stole my amp.. So i decided just to overhaul everything i have.. i sold my headunit and just bought a alpine 9813 and installed it.. i have a usa-400 amp (old school) and my subs are dual 4's soo i have to bring the usa-400 too 1 ohm at 15 volt but thats 2000 rms....... too much for the subs i have.. so i am thinking of tuning my box again for some New compvx 15's.. and also should i use the built in crossover on the head unit.. since the usa-400 doesnt have one built in or buy a crossover???

Use the xover in the head unit, but im almost sure that has no ability for subsonic filtration which is a real sub killer for daily beaters. Id suggest buying one from Harrison Labs, its great insurance for your subs and they'll have better response because they wont be working to produce fequencies it cant possibly do well.

Harrison Labs product #HP - SUB 900111
This is an adjustable subsonic filter, 20hz to 35hz 12db/octave

Problem is with harrison labs, it looks like a 3 year old made their website and their amps came out of 1984, but their Fmods are about their only worthwile product. I think they're 20 bucks for the adjustable subsonic filter.
