I tryed differnt power's,grounds and it still whine's.I can not figure it out any help would be great

i dunno....i really dont know how that could possibly be the problem but it seems easy enough to try. I still havent tried anything that people were suggesting on that thread i started a while back....no time for my own ride till the navi is done, but i can do this one pretty quick and easy.

odd... I don't have any problems with mine..

I have mine hooked up with the HU in the dash, with the 12v constant, then the 12v acc, and then to the turnon wire that also goes to the amps.

(looks much better next to my 6.5" screen now)

you could put a choke coil on the power lead to the voltage meter, at least it will be filtering the circuit, and only costs like $5 at radioshack. I did this to an audiocontrol overdrive with a nasty noise problem recently and it solved it. Its nice when simple fixes work out, maybe this might be one for ya.

I have the same problem too.I hooked it to the stock deck power, ground and acc but the voltage is about 3 volts off from the battery and it goes up and down up and down.

I'll try the choke and see what happens

i had two of these in my truck. one wired in directly to the radio, power, then acc wire even ground right behind the clarion unit.
also one instaled right onto my amps terminals. power, ground, remote.
NEVER any problems.

id say try and reground it to something else...

but these voltage gauges are VERY NICE to have!!!!
dont ever count on your stock gauge meter! mines never been accurate! it dips down slow not to mention never very accurate. and now that i instaled my overlay my needle is NEVER even close 95% of the time.

it shouldn't be that hard of a fix.

what "exactly" do you have it wired to?

with mine, I have it Y'd to the acc wire, turnon, and ground. I had it hooked up the same way with my alpine cda-9815, and now my pioneer avh6500dvd.. and neither produce any whine at all.

could it have been something to do with how you hooked it up? where exactly do you have it grounded at? if it's on your dash, do you have it grounded to the same place that your HU is grounded at? and where exactly does this "whine" come from? the volt meter itself, or the amps?

the headunit is grounded on a metal braket in the dash,I had it grounded with the headunit away from the headunit, strait to the batt.stock ground for the headunit.the power was off the batt and stock acc wire for the stereo. the whine comes from the speakers even when the deck volume was all the way down. car on car off same whine.I've 2 decks and 3 mids/high amps changed out.
