$200 and you are complaining? Man if you can't afford that then you should not be competing.....If you are really hurting that much for money then don't compete and save your money for more impotant things or the next season and if its that's serious that you need to compete then sell your battery and buy a used one....
People.....nothing makes them happy, cheaper to compete they nag, less points required they nag. No one has a gun to your head quit if you don't like it. Acting like dope pheins....

I can understand the rules change on the large multi cell batts in Street, but if the NSB90 isn't a multi cell then there's no point in banning them, especially if they are identical to other automotive batts. I don't know a lot about the different types of batteries, but the posts on the NSB's look a lot like the Kinetiks, and the Kinetiks are legal.

What makes them to be DESIGNED for automotive use?
Do not trust what distributors are saying. They just say what u should hear and things u can not disprove
quote:Originally posted by Street Dreams CC: The 90 was never intended for automotive use. They made the g3100 as a automotive version of the 90
but u know that the g3100 is physically the same as the nsb90
The 90 is marketed as a telecom battery the g3100 is not so may be the same internals/external but not the same. Go to northstars website the 90 is under a telecom battery. The rules CLEARLY state Only "standard", 12-volt, 6-cell, lead/acid or gel-type automotive batteries are permitted in the Street Division. Notice automotive call northstar ask them what the 90 is intended for, its a telecom battery

sure, but thats the joke about what we are talking here about What is automotive or not defines just the label and this is just stupid. Especially that almost all products with "for car-hifi use" label are 2 times and even more expensive.

According to NORTHSTAR Battery ALL THEIR Batteries carry the SAME DOT APPROVAL. DOT 49CFR173.159(d), (i), and (ii) This means that ALL of them can be used for Automotive applications

I live in Springfield MO, where Northstar batteries are made. I have toured the plant many times, and I know several people who work there. My understanding is that the only difference in the NSB90 and the G-3100 is the terminals. The case is for sure the same. I asked about that when talking to them, IN PERSON, about whether or not it was ok to use my NSB90's for daily use in a car. They told me it was fine. They pretty much told me the only difference was the starter batteries had more automotive friendly terminals.
