with the world points leaders always coming from europe, and looking at the amount of shows hosted over there....
i see no reason why ANYONE from europe wanting to compete at a regional or "national" event would not have plenty of required points.
its not nearly as easy to attain points here. i stopped half way through the season, and i have 200, and am currently ranked 4th in north america, and i'm not even competing anymore.
i dont even want to click to see how many oki has
point is, anyone of your caliber ben, should have no problem with getting 75 points.
imo, its fair, no one should even have a right at a national title if they cant go to a few shows and support the sport.

It's a big chance that not the 2 loudest cars in their class wil fight for the world champion title Take in considiration (sp?) the CURRENT gap between street or SS in US and Europe.
In this way, Graigh and Scott will not fight against each other for the World Title in ext 5+, but one of them will go up against a Euro car doing 165...

x a million!
All I've heard is how awesome their shows are, how many people are always there, and how many points one can attain over there.
Now add that to all the b*tching about wanting a true World Finals, now you get what you want....and you still complain?
Sounds like they don't know what they want if you ask me.

Obviously, whoever wins the final round that goes between the loudest North American and the loudest European wins First place for World Finals, but who gets second and third and fourth and so on?
Wayne?

there isnt a 1-8th in the world, nor is there a 1-8 in the country...
there is 1-8 in the region.
1 in the continent.
1 in the world.
the top 4 in each continent battle for number 1. (there is your craig vs scott) for the national/continental title.
the top 1 from each continent battle for the world title.
there is no #2 in the world. or 3 or 4 etc...
only number 1.
so, for sake of argument, when craig and scott go at it for the national... they better not sandbag
i have always been against the whole internet battle... because of differances in weather, etc...
but, i do like that this will certainly prevent some sandbaggin and force people to really do what they can.

Regionals should be open to anyone who wants to compete. Just make it a normal 3x show available to anyone who wants to play.

Oh man ! We need points now? TZhat is bad ! Do you know how hard it is in Europe to get the required points? I mean come on, you cannot do that ! And its just a little bit over a month til the cut off date, theres not enough chances to get enough points and a certified that late in the season, oh my god, never ever thought that we here in europe would need points for a world final...
JOOOOOKE !!!
Ü MM (350+ points for now, and DONT EVEN GO FOR POINTS !!! Will end up 3rd or maybe 2nd, I DONT CARE ! At least the Points World Champ will be a "Michael" hehehe)
PS2.: As for the World Titles, I also think that there is just a winner, and no 2nd place, because it would not be fair, like others said, if the 2nd in the us does 175, Scott wins with 178, and the best Euro does "just" 165 and gets 2nd place. So the one 175 US guy will be mad...
But that is not my problem, I am too far away from this scores haha.

Actually we have a triple every week. Just Wayne hasnt updatet the status yet. So basically you can do your qualifying for the finals when you start in 2 weeks...
Absolutely no reason for whining and moaning and whatever. Possibilities are here in Europe...

Yeah, unless people stay home, I seriously doubt the high over there will be 165!
I would think the new finals format will bring a lot of people out over there, finally a chance to compete in finals without dropping a ton of money to ship one over.

because not all the big hitters can attend every show eh trailers, 10mpg, overnight ferry crossings etc etc...can cause issues. i'm not at all saying it's a cost issue (as it's my choice to travel).
are we happy that all the systems will be able to function ? look at the problems we have watching DB TV.

think of it like this
How do you determine A WORLD champ? Well simple you put the top US guy against top Euro guy to find the one and only WORLD champ. No second place or so on. Just 1 the big dog thats it. There is no second world champ oe third only 1.
Now as for the other guy in the US that is not the loudest but louder then Euro... well guess they take 2nd place Nationals. As there is only 4 people per class selected for Nationals.
