Last year I was told that if i go to an event like a 3x or finals, of course this should be caught at small shows as well, but anyway I was told if I didnt have the little flipper panels on my rear interior pieces I would not be legal for street classes. Is this true, do I need to have them?

Unless it's an HF model. HF's did not have these or a cardboard cargo cover in the rear. If your car is a DX or an Si, you will need to have them.

thats what i tried to tell them, but they didnt beleive me, but now today when i was cleaning the garage i found the little plastic peices that go into that spot back there, wish i knew where they were before so i could have showed them. they just said all crx's had to have them, i was like how can i be required to have something my car didn't come with

Your last pic there shows that it is a delete plate. By having this, it proves your car did not come with the flaps. Some of the judges may need to gain some knowledge of these cars.
To prevent this from happening again, find a set of DX rear panels and call it a day.

My car is an HF,but I swapped in the b-pillar rearward from an Si (because it looked better). Honestly how soon before they become fodder for the collectors (*cough* Alan *cough* )? The 2nd gen model becomes 20 this year and parts are becomming scarce so some rulings make you scratch your head-but I understand the reasoning behind it.

I have not had them the last 2 years and it passed inspection in a couple minutes. So my guess is that you really do not need them as some models do not have them anyway.

Yep, my 88 HF had no flaps and no cargo cover from the factory.

corrected
'88 All models have b-pillar seatbelts '89-91 DX and Si models have door mounted belts. on HF models it was a running change in '89.

-'88 model year was b pillars seatbelts -'89-91 (USDM versions) became door mounted belts with stronger side inpact bracing. The exception was the '89 HF-it was a running change-some have b pillars will other have door mounted.
Hope this clears up the controversy. Not bad for a 20 year old car design is it.
