Traditionally, the first 3X events don't start showing up until the Spring of the new season vs into the Fall or Winter when the season first begins. Would there be significant interest in a 3X event like in late October ie Halloween or even around New Years? Or is it it just better off sitting back and waiting until the Spring for a multi point like that?

A New Years 3x sounds like a good idea Greg. I am going to hang back before starting a new build to see how things unfold with rules and other important anouncements.

I hear ya Fred... I hope a few things do change...for the better of course. We all do. I guess my only thing with a New Years event is that it would technically be a day or so after for it to be on a weekend but I'm thinking it would need to be indoor??? Would this be critical for a winter show as I have had events throughout the winter in the past and things seemed to go ok...with the heaters running of course. Lol.

Besides the cold, I wouldn't see anything wrong with a winter show. Cold and unpredictable weather would be the 2 problems I see.

If the weather is like it has been the past couple years then it shouldn't be to bad with some heat provided.Indoors is always a nice thing too.

I think that with it being your first 3X and possibly the first 3X of the season that it should atleast be in 2010. I say that cuz whether people qual and compete at WFs or not that alot of people will be doing teardowns and rebuilds getting ready for the new season. Usually its for the SBN. Thats like the unofficial deadline to have your system in order. And if you have it like at the end of Feb or in March thatd probably be alot more doable for people. Cuz I'm sure with it being a 3X u want it to have a huge turnout and with it being your first 3X I'm sure u want a big turnout too. Besides u could have other comps before then. Maybe even a 2X just to test the waters. And if you do a new years comp u better have power cuz itll be Bowl Week and it'd be cool to have a comp, have some bowl games on, and some alcohol. Maybe u could have it at like a BW3s that has a huge lot. Like the one in forest park. hint hint

How bout we plan on getting together after the show at BW3s? I'm thinking 1X for the Halloween event @ Car Stereo One. Seems to be the best semi local location.
