i tried getting a job at a few different shops here in upstate ny as a trainee, but they said you need schooling for it. does anyone know of any schools, or what i need or know of where i could find information? thank you

Look in CA&E, AS&S, CSR, Audio, etc. magazines. They should have ads for different install schools. Also, look in Parts Express - they should have instal training video series.
You could also try to get your foot in the door with Best Buy, Circuit City, Tweeter, etc. as a sales rep or junior installer.

I went to Ritop. The school outside Boston. I learned alot more than I bargained for. As far as the other schools, I'm not sure. Ive heard positive and negatives about each. After you research the schools, I think Ritop is the best bet, plus its close to you. If you wanna ask detailed questions about Ritop,email me, and I can answer them for you. I 100% back the school. Can't go wrong learning in the oldest store in America, they must be doing something right.

hey i also went to Ritop it was 2 of the most fun months of my life. learned alot of stuff and had fun doing it. the school is part of a great shop and u get to see some great installs. hummers, ferraris, stuff like that often come in. the teachers are great and the school has a housing deal. any questions? feel free to email me dan_dwight@hotmail.com
