I think if anyone knows what they consider illegal it is him. But he likes to start shyt too....hahahaha all part of the game....right???
sorry to bring it back up...but the roof of Alans car isn't the factory sheet metal is it?
Thats a modification to the external skin of the vehicle...which is against the rules...
Modifications to the external OEM "skin" (body) of the vehicle are not permitted if the modification in question will result in a change in the vehicle's interior volume. The dBDRA defines the "skin" of the vehicle as the external shell (top, front, back, and sides) of the vehicle's OEM body that gives the vehicle its distinctive appearance. This is also the part of the vehicle that is normally painted. The underside or undercarriage of the vehicle is not considered to be a part of the OEM "skin".
Additional Guidelines:
* "Chop-tops" are prohibited. * Non-OEM extended roofs are prohibited.
If you wanted to get technical then the 4'' thick concrete roof he has changed the internal volume of the vehicle...
I don't care either way but he shouldn't be calling other people cheaters, if I ever had to compete against the Volvo I would be bringing that up
Justin, you are correct with the statment...But Steve is 100% correct on the ruleing. It is legal. It doesn't effect the oem space because his roof is lower than oem (on the inside).
see to me because the roof is now the same piece of concrete that is the roof of the inside of the car then it's still questionable.
I'm not in the class so I don't care one way or the other lol. Just upsets me to see him call someone out on being illegal when there is some things in his own vehicle that could be questioned as well

You are even legal when you just build a bunker - cage out of metal - concrete - wood - .... And after you put just the outside "body" of the car over it ...

you all make some good points but there is still part of the origional roof there and the concret meets it and follows to the windshield,I guess that is why they said it was legal. I am not a judge just passing what i heard the judges say. I also agree with you tj I share with people in my class and they share with me. I guess there is some sort of grudge between these two or they would be doing the same. I know that i am going to be watching the brazilian scores this year for their finals
