Setting : Horizon Audio in North Canton

I'm on my way to the weekly bass race at Horizon Audio this past thursday, and I'm running a little late, the show starts at 6pm with qualifying. Its a bass race only thing, just for fun. I end up getting there about 10 minutes after 7pm. I pull up and my one friend is there waiting for me runs over to my car and says if I want to qualify I've got like 10 seconds to pull into the lane. So I put the car in drive and pull around right into the lane.

Everyone is standing around it looks like everyone is done qualifying and waiting to move on to the brackets. Then I pull up into the lane, they put the mic in my car, I jump out and get my car ready to go.

The guy runnin the show is called "Moose" and asks me if I'm ready, and I ask him how many people are in the 140 class. He tells me he can't tell me.

So he starts it up and I let it rip with a good start at full volume. Score reads 144 db after about 4 seconds, then drops and settles around 142-143. I'm standing outside of my car and at this point I ask him again, "How many people are in the 140 class". He tells me nobody is in the 140 class. I'm like oh wtf. So about 10 seconds left to go. I pause the music, score drops down to under 140 after a second or two. I unpause it. Pause it. Unpause it. Final score reads 139.something, and I get placed into the 130-139.9 class.

Everyone there was P1SSSED! They were all like "Are you gonna let him do that Moose?!?, WTF?!?"

since its qualifying it doesnt matter how high or low u go, it only matters where ur score finishes at, but eliminations i cant go over 139.9 now
---------
Now imagine this happening from the point of view of some local guy that came to the show with a "big" system. and this happens. These guys had to be so pissed off at me. I just pull up about an hour late, pull right into the lane and beat everyone's score there by 3-4 db's, then back it down so i get placed into their class.

So to wrap it up I go on to the brackets and beat like 4 people and win the bass race
pulling off a 139.8 in the final bracket

burped a 145.2 @ 51hz after the brackets for a new personal best

all this was on the TL btw

it doesnt matter much either way remote works just as well inside as out, just less bass my ears have to take

i sat in the car for all of the eliminations

only gripe i have with bein in the car is i cant hear the db drag thing say ready set go, i have to go by seeing the board light up ready set go

kinda messes with my timing, but i got enough bass to get my score up higher if i need it to be

all about control
