so am I right when I see that it is $60 bucks to register for dbdrag and u get 1 bass race? does that mean u have to pay another 20 bucks for another bass race the next day?
i see its only 20 bucks for bass race, is that for both days? $60 bucks for all of it is a little steep for me, so i could just pay 20 bucks and do only bass race?

there are three classes for the bass race competition....
120-129db 130-139.9db 140-149.9db
you can't divide it like that, because if someone knows they can get 142dBs in bass race, they would turn it down so they only got 139dBs, and win the lowest class...
wait a minute?? how are you even deciding what class people are in? it has to be decided after then compete... well, I wouldn't be entering without knowing that I actually had a chance of taking a prize....
I don't think this competition makes much sense...

no theres 119 and below, 120-129, 130-139, 140-149, 150-159, 160 and above. It not about how loud you are is about how constint you are. Thats why anyone can win. Drag is how loud you are and this is for anyone. 10s and 100watts or 70 12s and 20,000 watts its anyones game.

no its not though.. I'm talking about this competition specifically...
you can't give money prizes, when people are entering not even knowing if there will be a prize for whatever class they may end up being in...
I mean, someone might enter, knowing they can get 139dBs in bass race, but after paying their $60 (yes?) they find out their class only had 7 people in it, and no prizes are to be issued....

Well if your wanting to compete for money you better start making side bets with your buddys about whos louder! The real money is getting out there and doing it for fun then getting a Sponcers to help you out. Thats were the money is. More and more companys are gearing up for Bass Race. Trust me on that.

yeah, but its like having a race.... and awarding a 1st prize in three different classes....
they should set classes based on power, or number of woofers or something... not setting classes based on how loud you are, which you won't even know till you've competed....
and I don't see why there needs to be 8 people in each event for you guys to give the prize money... I mean... no matter what class you're in, you pay the same amount, so why must there be just as many people in the lowest class, with a $25 prize, as there is in the top class, with a $100 prize?

For one thing they dont have to give anything to the winners. They do it out of there profit. So I wouldnt be complaining. Do bass race or do DB Drag they go by how many woofers you have and power. But your going to get killed there if your not Very loud on the Mic.

if yo udont understand why the classes are the way they are, or why the prize is the way it is, then you havent been following exactly WHAT bass race is.
your reasoning above is silly.
that's like saying, " why compete in sm 1-2 when i KNOW i'm doing under a 148, yet all the other guys are doing above 150, i'll NEVER win against the big boys so why waste my time"
that's just plain silly.
people that comepte in bass race, know what thier system is capable of. its about reaction time, and paying close attention to your score.
if you want to go for the higher class, then you do it, and hope you can win it.
if you want to sandbag and stay in the lower class, then you do it, and hope you dont break out in the final round.
i can bass race at above 138. but i know i cant get a 139.9 consistantly, with the VERY FEW commercially available cd's that i have.
so, when i bass race, i stay down in the 129.9 class. but it can come back and get you, if you break out in the finals.
on saturday, i qualified with something silly like a 123 or 124
but i went to the final round, because i managed the music better in the semi finals.
in the final round me and the other guy battled around 129.5
with only a few seconds left, he turned it down, and i turned it up.
with ONE SINGLE SECOND left on the meter, i hit 130 and got dq'd. and hewon with a 129.1
he managed his system better than i di, in the final seconds. and i beat myself. shame on me, that's what i get for tryign to stay in a lower class.
anyway, if you dont follow along, i woudl say read read read the bass race rules.
have you competed in bass race yet? if not, then you wont understand.
and, for the record, on sunday for bucks. the classes were NOT full. and the sponsors STILL gave the 50 bucks and 100 bucks for 1st place.
they did NOT have to. the rules were clearly spelled out. but there were still less than 8 in each class.
but having top notch sponsors and a top notch judge.... they gave the prize money anyway, to some very happy competitors.

I wouldn't be paying anything to enter a competition like that!!!!
crap, my system CAN do 142 in bass race... but I think I'll turn it down so it only does 139.9dBs so I win!!! =\
good luck!!!!

about 52% of all competitors fall into the 120-129.9 about 37% of all competitors fall into the 130-139.9 about 10% of all competitors fall into the 140-149.9
