This is just an idea for Bass Race at finals-
Repeat - just an idea -

Competitors must receive an Invite to compete at finals

Friday night (yes I said Friday night) Bass Race. Qualifying and eliminations. This would be HEAT 1. Top 4 from each class Friday night would come back Sunday for the Finals Championship

Saturday Night (yes I said Saturday night) Bass Race. Qualifying and eliminations. HEAT 2
Top 4 from each class Saturday come back on Sunday for the Finals Championship.

Sunday the top 4 from Friday and the top 4 from Saturday make the final Bass Race Bracket for Sunday Championship.

Just an Idea .

How do we invite people to come to finals?????
What about competitors who have competed in Bass Race throughout the season as a possibility?

What about if at Friday World Finals Bass race Heat 1 you do not make the top 4 - you could come back Saturday and try again (along with the other qualifiers on Saturday)

I would also suggest that you can only be in one class. Once you made the final top 4 cut you cannot qualify again.

These are just ideas.

There is a MAGNATUDE of items that have to be done to make Bass Race available for finals

* Floor Space
* Metering equipment
* Event sponsor
* Invitations
* Trophies
* Moving vehicles inside the building
* Meca or dB drag Racing competitors also competing in Bass race
*Stuff I don't even know about

What do you think of this idea? Any other suggestions we could come up with that could work? Any problems you can forsee?

I like the Idea But I have been working for the past 3 months getting this truck ready for bass race. I just found out 3 weeks ago that they were going to have Bass Race at finals. I see where you are comming from with the Invite but I cant do both. Build the truck and go to shows. This insall Is HUGE and takes alot of time and money. When are we going to know what the final word is going to be??

what about those who do not compete in dbdrag and just do bassrace?? i mean i can prob join but i wont compete in dbdrag.. i just love bassrace alot better.. there are not many shows around my area as a matter of fact there was just 1 here recently in which i attended and took first... i will also be attending some of the ones in ohio just to get my name out there more but is there any way for those who are not dbdrag competitors to get an invite as well?????

We plan to possibly use the truck in BassRace or the Volkswagen Bug. I too would like to know how the invites will work?

please reread the first line of the first post
this is just an idea

What about this idea

quote:
How do we invite people to come to finals?????
What about competitors who have competed in Bass Race throughout the season as a possibility

How many shows would be needed 1? 2? 3? 4? 5? 6? 7?......15? ---- What number would you think would be good?

I would also think you would have to be a member to db drag racing to get an invite. (HOW ELSE WOULD WAYNE KNOW WHO YOU ARE AND WHERE TO SEND THE INVITE?)

Anybody got any other ideas?

What about the heat 1 and heat 2 thing for the finals - likey?

Okay here is one suggestion: To get an invitation you had to be at a 2X or 3X doing Bass Race and maybe do a few shows either competing in Db Drag or Bass Race (maybe 5 or less or more shows).

But the question will be how do you invite people for at Bass Race Finals and you have all classes cover.

I like the Db dragracing member requirement.
I would likt to see a 50 point (dbdrag) or 5 show requirement for this.
I think you should declare your class before you qualify (you could also be undeclared and compete where ever you end up) and if you do not make it you get a second retry for instance friday night is qualifying #1 and sat night is qualifying #2 lets say that I declared 140-149.9 and only hit a 138 friday night. I obviously did not make that class but I will retry on saturday night for the 140 -149.9 class. I believe that if people are building for finals they will have some testing done and know about where they want to compete at. I don't see the purpose of having 3 complete bass race competitions back to back (fri, sat ,sun)as is there are really only 5 classes that are competed in I believe that these could be ran in under 3 hours I would like to use daytona as an example.
I would also like to see an exibition round after the final round for everyone that is capable of maintaining over 150 but not capable of maintaining a 159.9 like a 30 second music death match. or better yet 1 min.

Here is an idea

Have an open Bass Race Event Thursday night or Friday morning in the parking lot of the IX center (I know people will complain about having to work but just think about it). Then you give the top 16 in each class invites to Heats 1 and 2 (8 of the 16 in one heat and the other 8 in the other heat) and the way you decide on what heat they go in is a stager of the heats and their placing in the open event like:

1st place = Heat 1
2nd place = Heat 2
3rd place = Heat 1
4th place = Heat 2
And so on

Then Sam you do your idea for the top 4 in each class of each heat to do the Main Bass Race Championship Event.

Like I said before some people are going to complain that they can not make it on Thursday night or Friday morning, but it is the only “fair” way to make invites to go inside the building for the big show. This way dB Drag does not have to figure out who did what and how many times in Bass Race and the people who are working on vehicles just for Base Race can have a chance.

This is just my two cents and just an IDEA!!!

I think Thursday October 6th will not work. It takes US mail to long to mail the invite. We would need at least (prior to the event) 15 days - 30 days cool - and perfer 45 days to mail out invites. We need that time to get replys.

Also do not forget international competitors.

So do we have a date deadline? We could use the db drag racing date deadline of September 18th?

Why not just do a REAL roll call and see how many poeple are FOR SURE going to come not maybe or if its done, but who is "GOING" to come. There might not be that many people that are willing to go. Just a Idea.

sounds like a good idea.. but we will also need to know about points and such so we can hit as many shows to get them for the ones who were not members at first.... the 18th sounds good to me... im in for that

more deep thoughts
It would be extremely difficult to run any event Thursday night ( I am having a secret VIP party)

Printing deadline for the show program is September 1st. If we wanted to hype up the competitors for the first bass race finals by listing the competitors names in the show program, we would need the names by September 1st.

SOOOOOOOOO

Latest we could send invites would be August 15th so we could RECIEVE responses by August 29th. Customairy 2 week response time

SOOOOOOOOOO

We could compile the data and publish names in the program

SOOOOOOOOOO

An idea we could send invites out ASAP (now) to all who have competed in at least 2 bass race.
We keep sending out invites each week until we get the 200 R.S.V.P.s

we would figure a way to reserve friday or saturday qualifing run on the invite (maybe even both days ((insurance))
We start taking the first 100 R.S.V.P. qualifiers who want friday and first 100 R.S.V.P. qualifiers who want Saturday

R.S.V.P. would require you send in your entry fee, photo of competitor and vehicle, brief data sheet.

We have floor space for about 50 to 100 cars per day for bass race. IX center has specific move in and move out procedues, so we will have to work on that also.

with 200 qualifiers for
120-129.9 8 final spots
130-139.9 8 final spots
140-140.9 8 final spots
150-150.9 8 final spots
160 - up 8 finals spot

it will not be hard to fill 4 of the 5 classes.

With my IDEA there would be no invites sent out. The invites would be handed to the top 16 competitors in each class after the “open” bass race event. So yes, if you drove to the event you would not be guaranteed an invite into the building you would have to be one of the top 16 in your class.

Sorry Sam for an idea that most likely won’t work but I think that doing it this way would make for the biggest most exciting Bass Race Event ever. Also have everybody reregister for the event. And if you are wanting press for the competitors and for Bass Race I am sure we could get a magazine or publication like 12 volt news to cover the play by play action with names and brackets from the open event, each heat, and final Bass Race event.

Like I said before this is just my two cents and just my IDEA.

200 Hundred Bass Race Competitors!!!!!!!!! [Eek!]

I think that's TOOOOOOOOO much Sam.

I mean in Db Drag only between 18 to 25 competitors for each class gets invitation. Also that means that 32 competitors will qualify and where does the other 168 competitors are going to be at ones there done.

I put 32 because I don't think no one will be in the 160 db class.
