Want more attendance at finals, have a huge car show for kids with a $10 entry fee and for those kids that want to come in and 'really' see what their car can do on a legal TL, charge $10 and have a group run a SPL clinic all day, both days at the show. Kids that walk in and see this, and think, wow, I wonder what my car can do....pay $10 and pull it in through the lane. Then you have LOCAL competition....and they will get drawn back into it. Advertise it heavily that this will go on....and when a kid thinks his ride is LOUD, and he measures a 125.7, he will have way more repsect for you guys doing 140-170's.
I like this idea, but it won't fly. Each competitor already jumps through hoops just to get their vehicle into the building with insurance etc. I can't imagine the hassle for local guys to get in the building, even if it is for a single run through.
Only reason it won't fly would be because nobody will give it a chance.
If we're going to increase foot traffic to World Finals, then we have to give the average local joe a reason to come besides being able to watch.

Weather permitting even outside, I would even comp some product for the highest 'street' score (non dbDragger) per day, this would help promote. I understand the insurance, but where there is a will, there surely is a way.
Friendly competition amongs a bunch of 16-20 year old kids in attendance, there will be peer pressure to 'show it off'...and if they get beat, I'd bet they would head to any dealer and get more car audio. This is what we want them to do, over buying a new gun, pair of $150 shoes, etc.

IF YOU PROMOTE THE SHOW YOU WILL GET THE FOOT TRAFFIC. I THINK THE SOUND OFF IN THE PARKING LOT IS A GREAT IDEA.

I had a idea, which is kind of a twist on what was mentioned earlier about $10 test in parking lot.
Instead have two or three cars setup inside with mics and someone there to moderate. Then let people sit in them and compete with their friends in bass race. That way they could actually hear how loud these cars are, or can be, and also get to see what it's really like competing. You could still charge them and give a portion or all the proceeds to the owners of the cars. I know if I was at a show I'd rather pay to play with someone elses loud car than test my own.
Just another idea to throw in the mix.

we should do a "guess that db challenge"
tell them the frequency and make them guess the number (under 170 of course)
i'm sure that would go by REAL WELL! hehe
for real guys i like the idea of the local show at finals...but there is so much going on at finals i dunno if having another show is even a possibility...especially outside...where would it be? outside on 4th street live in the square?
the way the center is setup in Louisville theres not alot of space outside...i'm not even sure what our hall is gonna look like..if its the same hall that meca/iasca rented the year of their finals its gonna be crowded enough as it is.

There is NO parking lot. and really no place to easy to do it. The only thing around the building is one way streets and buildings. So it would have to be one in the Center and I dont think Wayne is going to rent more room.
