how is qualifying regulated? What I mean is:

say, for example, meade (sorry buddy [Smile] ) is known to be in the 153's...at a show there is someone known to be in the high 158's. So during qualifying he only plays at 75% and scores a 138.4 in order to qualify for 130-139.9. Does that automatically put him in 130-139.9 for easier competition?

I gues that would be a way of "sandbagging". But it may not be easier?

Ones reaction time effects the score
music effects the score
you have to beat the guy/gal next to you
the 3 big things for bass race - reaction, average and control.

yes, that would put him in the 130-139.9 class.

however, it doesnt make it "easier"

he still has to beat the guy next to him. AND, more importantly, he CAN NOT go over 139.9 for even 1 second. if he does, he is dq'd.

at a recent show, in bass race, someone qaulified in a class fairly low for them. in the eliminations, as soon as the computer said go, they hit thier pause button, they instantly and i mean on the very first note, went above thier bracket's allowed score. instant dq, in the first second.

that's the gamble you take when trying to sandbag and stay in a lower class.

btw: bass race scoring has nothing to do with your dbdrag scoring.

they are completely different, and unrelated.
