This old van will surprise many of the skeptics.
The box will be 20 cubes net with a 200 inch port 28 inches deep with 2 inch mdf and 4 inches on the face with 1/8 inch steel backing and alot of smoothed out fiberglass inside along with some nice bracing should weigh in around 900~ lbs.

It dosent matter how big or how big of a woofer you have. It will never do a 155- 160 with 1 or 2 woofers in Bass Race.

Never say never remember there is alot of other factors besides a 22 inch sub in the proper setting with 23k~ of pure power is no joke also remember no resonating of the platform along with NO cancellation issues.
btw the door pods will be wearing either dd's or treo's with 500 rms each I'm not sure how well this will do on the meter but look out on the ears.

Hey Bruce ! Nice to see the things going on finally ! I wish you good luck with the project. If you want to know something, I try to help. Maybe I can try to calculate a good bandpass box for your sub if you want. But I dont have experience with that sub (what a wonder) so it depends on more things that my theorie meets the reality. I think the cone area and volume of the XMAX allows to produce pressures around 160dB, at least at a short burp. Dunno about the music. My car is about 2.5 db lower at the moment in Bass Race than in regular competition. (honestly I didnt try it out much with other songs) In Deathmatch I can hold the score easily for 1 minute before the track skips and ruins everything
Also I dont know the car and the construction integrity of the boxm what can have a big big influence of the outcome...
Damn, you know all that...
Keep on the good work and let SQPL rule !

The van has serious sound deadning and is very solid along with basically just the cab to fire into this should be like firing 7 of the MTX 9500 series 12's with the power of 2 big Crowns into a small area maybe 60~ cubic feet or so.

Sorry for rambling, what I was trying to say is the van hardly resonates that combined with alot of power sub tuned low and only playing into a small area should yield ok results.
The analogy of 7 mtx 9500 12's is equal to one jackhammer comes from mtx.

I still dont understand how MTX sayes the 1 jackhammer is better the 7 9500s. There is now way. See someone who is a Vet in Drag tried one of these and it failed very badly.

I am having second thoughts about the big sub, I have been giving this alot of thought lately afterall at 6k this thing isn't cheap and the box won't be either.
So I talked to Craig at Treo about doing 4 ssx 18's with the same power and he seems to have convinced me this is a better option besides I started thinking about the weight and cost factors along with 4 18's vs. one 22 the choice now seems simple

You will be simply louder with the 18s. But you have enough room for about 7 of them. Come on get 8 in there.

I'm gonna start with 4 in a 32 ft. common chamber enclosure with a 254 inch port in the middle and some treo ssi 8's in the doors that should be a good baseline for what the van is capable of.

I dont know much about the Treos so I dont know about the air space. It sounds a little big, but I sure if it is someone will let you know. But this is a much better than the jackhammers,.
