Hey guys - In the past, I've made my boxes to be as big as I can get into my trunk, with almost as much port area as possible. Now that I'm going to be just street beating instead of competing for the most part.. I was wondering what kind of box design gets loud on music, in a trunk.. Small box, large port? Large box, large port? Can someone help me out!? Ideas? (Subs are going to be 2 T3 TSS 10's)

I doubt it, if people see a posting on here from a name that they don't really recognize, they usually just ignore it, and don't help out at all, or just ruin the thread with bullsh*t. Maybe that's why more new people don't get involved in this sport.

That's not true, there are a lot of people on here that are friendly and willing to help. I'm not experienced with trunk cars or I would help.

Well first give people at least a day or two to see the topic before losing faith. As far as enclosure I would probably go with 2 cubes ported per 10 and tune at 34-38 hz with a couple 4" aero ports or a sloted equivilant. A single enclosure would be ok as would be separate ones. The key to a trunk is sealing it off as much as possible so no sound gets to the back, Use Fibreglass, Vibraflex, mdf or whatever stiffens the area and seals it. If this cannot be done then position the enclosure as far back as possible in the trunk and/or to the rear corner firing into the front or side.

And as always any flexing you can remove from the trunk will help force pressure out and keep the harmonic higher as to not lose sound energy to the extreme subsonic range(below 20hz). This will make your daily ride hit harder and peak at a more reasonable note for daily.

By the looks of your sig I see that you are friends with Iggy... j/k [Smile]
Most of the people on this forum have no problem helping out new guys.... thats the way the sport grows. Just be patient and people will help... if you dont get answers right away and your thread falls down bump it up and give it another chance... sometimes threads fall so fast that they get missed

I see my comment sparked some people up..

So Don - going as big as I can with the box is not good? Can there be too much box volume for subs?

Tyler, yes there is too much airspace. 10s shoudlnt be in over 3 cubes or so, they will not work as well.
