Hello, Samir, and welcome to the forum. I would like to know how car audio differs in South America versus the United States and what kinds of things are the same.

HELLO,
THANKS FOR YOUR E-MAIL. EVERYTHING IS PRETTY MUCH THE SAME EXCEPT FOR THE "TRIO ELÉTRICO" WHICH ARE BEACH CARS WITH HORNS AND FREE AIR SPEAKERS THAT PLAY REALLY LOUD IN MOST OF NORTH OF BRAZIL WHERE IT IS VERY TROPICAL. A REAL PARTY....

Wow, beat me to the punch. I wanted to ask you about the Trio Eléctrico competitions. How are they set up and how are they scored. Here in the US, there has been a lot of emphasis on how "clean" the sound is, and how loud the bass is, but you don't see alot of full range audio blasting.
Also, I hear MECA is real big down there. How are some of the other competition organizations doing?

HELLO,
WELL MY PERSONAL GROUND IS SPL AND SOUND QUALITY. THAT TRIO IS JUST A LOCAL THING I´M SURE YOU DO NOT HAVE IN THE USA. AT THE SAME TIME RIGHT NOW WE ARE NOT HAVING MANY SOUND OFFS FOR SOUND QUALITY, IT IS MOSTLY SPL, I WOULD SAY OVER 500 EVENTS A YEAR RIGHT NOW. I´M THE PRESIDENT OF ONE ASSOCIATION IN BRAZIL NAME TRIBO DO SOM (www.tribodosom.com.br) WHICH ORGANIZES SOME OF THE BEST EVENTS AROUND HERE , ALMA GATES WAS ON OUR FINALS NOVEMBER LAST YEAR. A GREAT PARTY. AS PER MECA THEY ARE JUST STARTING BUT I THEY WILL DO GOOD IN THE FUTURE.

I must say that this site is more concise and better arranged than most American soundoff organizations. For our English speaking friends, you should note that the '.' and ',' switch places, so when you see someone doing 149,25, it's the same as 149.25.
Agradecimentos!

YES, THAT´S CORECT . TRIBE OF SOUND IS THE TRANSLATION. WE HAVE HAD PEOPLE DOWN THER SUCH AS GORDON OAKES, BILL LYTTLE, VAN ADKISON AND ALMA GATES. THE FOUR OF THEM HAVE MADE WHAT TRIBO DO SOM IS TODAY IN SOUTH AMERICA. IT ALSO CONSTANTLY HELPS OTHER S. AMERICAN ORGANIZATIONS SUCH AS IASCA ARGENTINA.

Will you give the group a little information about the show I attended - we had something like 10,000 people that weeked? Also the one you had on the beach with the huge group. I think my friends would be interested in that.
Oh yes - Tell my friends hello and - The Book is on the Table! (still)

HI ALMA,
WE HAVE BEEN HAVING SOUND OFFS AT TRIBO DO SOM SINCE 1995 AND OUR RECORD WAS TO PUT TOGETHER OVER 150,000 PEOPLE AT ONE SOUND OFF WITH OVER 200 CARS RUNNING FOR SOUND QUALITY, 75 EXHIBITORS AND 10,000 T-SHIRTS GIVEN FREE FOR THE PUBLIC ATTENDING THE SHOW. IT WAS A BLAST. UNFORTUNATELY THIS PARTY IS GETTING SMALLER AND SMALLER SO FOR THE SHOW YOU ATTENDED WITH US WE HAD AROUND 15,000 PEOPLE ONLY. BIG PARTY FOR SURE, PEOPLE ENJOY THAT, SO I HOPE HAVE YOU... Oh yes - Tell my friends hello and - The Book is on the Table! (still)

Hello Hak, I feel very fortunate to have been in the right place at the right time. I have no idea how all this happened, but it did - and I am having a great time.
Perhaps, someday, others will also have the opportunity to be invited (and this is the magic word) to other countries for shows.
I was invited to attend shows in Brazil, Canada, Panama, Guam, and Hartford Conn.!
Sorry Glen, just had to add that. For anyone interested that show is Sept. 30/Oct 1st in Hartford again this year.

[/B][/QUOTE] I GUESS I SHOULD ALSO MENTION ALMA IS AN ATTRACTION EVERYWHERE SHE GOES TO. THAT´S WHY SO MANY PEOPLE LIKE HER SO MUCH. ALMA IS SURELY A REFERENCE TO THIS WORLD OF SPL.
