Every once in a while, someone comes along that attracts my attention. Kyle is one of these "once in a while" people.
Kyle works in the industry, competes with a pretty (well was) blue Toyota PU that now looks like a spl monster.
Everyone say hello to Kyle. He has lots of technical skills. Loves to compete and really likes to win. He also has a Team Gates logo on that Toyota (sigh - its not a ford)

First off I want to thank Alma for inviting me to talk in the forum and for always being there for me when I needed her (THANKS!) The Spl world is a crazy sport, but we all need to help each other out to make us a bigger and better competitor and make this sport grow!!!. Ok enough of that!! Any ways I've been in the industry for quite a few years. I've been lucky enough to be working for a manufacture in the spl part/technical part for the past 3 years. Feel free to ask me anything. I'm here to help out.

Hello Pegasus1, That's a good question. I think there is alot of different opinion out there. "So in my opinion" I would always stick with a flat wall if I had the choice and the room. I've done both kinds of walls in my vehicle and have found out that the flat wall had gotten me a little bit more output. The reason behind that is that I can minimize any type of time arrival or wave arrival issues to the mic for maximum output. Also in a flat wall of speakers, when the speakers are right next to each other the near-field wave of the speakers are combined together and are acting like one big speaker. Granted you can alter time arrival with phase shifters. Which in sometimes you have to for the maximum output. The most common reason some one would do a w-wall is they're trying to get more speakers in to the vehicle. I've gone to 6- 12" speakers and am doing a 166.4 right now with stock glass. I've had more subs in that truck and have done less spl (go figure)!!!! So that's my opinion. Hope that helps out. IM sure you get a lot of different opinions.
P.S. Alma I have a Ford Truck that I would be glad to put the Team Gates Badge on.
I wish you the best Kyle, and Alma I hope you get you truck done SOON the suspence is killing me (and probally you and many others) well good luck to the both of you.
Joe

Hello Storker84, You really dont what to mix and match amps together like. For best possible output you would need to use all the same amps. In your case if you have to run them for this show then we could level match the outputs to be the same for the maximum output with what you have. Yes i'll be at the C.A show on the 13th. If you want i can bring my oscilloscope and set that up for you (let me know). I know those amps real well. Do me a favor e-mail me at Splking1@aol.com so i can give you a call. I need to see what load your running the 800a2 an see if i need to bring that scope to C.A.

I have 4 15" subs, I just recently updated my pictures on my site with the wall that I just made for my car, but I lost the password to the FTP server and haven't had a chance to delete the old pictures, just update the new once, but if you'll go to my website again, http://www.leadershiplincoln.com/kyle you'll see the wall.
P.S. I think I've talked to you on AOL AIM in the past, Alma gave me your IM name, you have the 4 15's correct?
well, I'm hitting a 152 consistantly with shi11y speakers and only 1000W so I'm satisfied for now, of course, it doesn't seem all that loud anymore and I want MORE! MORE! MORE!!!!!
