I went to my local fiberglass supply to pick up a few things. The man said he spoke with a very well known installer who works for kicker now.. and supposively told him that if you put Bubble gum xtract into the resin, it won't have the smell, it would smell a little like bubble gum in the car. I don't think he was BS'n because he's an older man.
I'm a golable(sp)? Do I need to check my muffler bearings [Wink]

FourBanger:

Select Products sells fiberglass resin with a bubble gum scent added. It does reduce the overwhelming oder of resin, but you will still have the smell, strongly. I quess the best way to describe it is, more of a hint of bubble gum. Does it help?...... yes... Would I spend any extra money to have it?... No..

The only benifit, that I can see, to using resin from Select or Fishman Products.(Metra) Is the very thin consistancy of their resin. It pours like corn oil. (very thin) it applies smoother and soaks into fleese(sp) easier. (In Mississippi we only have about 4 Body shop supply stores total [Big Grin] and they all sell the same "Evercoat" products! (pours like molasses))

Since you are so close to Kicker. I would ask "That very well known Installer" what kind of resin he uses. If it is the person I am thinking about, He would know!!! [Big Grin]

Hope this helps.

PS: Last I heard Muffler Bearings were good for at least 50k miles. [Big Grin]

Yes, I think I found what they put in the resin.. just can't find it localy. It's bubble gum sented/flavored oil.
And yes it's probably the well know installer you're thinking of and I'm going to ask him.
