i have just recently layed down some tin sheeting in various places in my car. it's an 83 and it seems the only place it grew rust was in the trunk. anyways what can i use to seal it up. all the holes and soft spots a patched and tough as a rhino, but i need to get it sealed air tight. i was going to fiberglass it, but wanted to see if there was something easier to use first. eventually the tire well will be glassed and the entire trunk will be done up with carpet and fiberglass. a friend recommended the stuff you use to fix and seal your driveway. this didn't strike me as a good idea.

You could maybe try some Kool Seal... its an elastometric roof coating. You would get the added benefit of damping as well!
I've never done this so I'm not sure how well it would work.. And I'm not sure how fiberglass resign would react to the Kool Seal once you decided to glass the trunk.
But if you're gonna glass eventually.. I don't see why you don't go ahead and do it now.. and get the added benefit of sealing up the trunk..
Good luck!

1) stuffing socks in my ports (for a sealed sound) 2) Drilling holes in my kick panels cause i made them to small.and the mid bass was horrendous 3) Having speaker wires coming out of my dash under the h/u and back to the trunk.. 4) My amps are still sitting on two pieces of MDF in my trunk unattached... 5) to be continued....
So I'm right with ya spec!

sweet, a fellow lazy bitch. i think this may explain why my room is suck a mess. i think it might also explain why the fish tank has a lawn, and why the lizard looks at me weird. oh well.
anyways i've discovered something that is actually a good thing about my 83 lebaron. there is an ass-load of empty space behind the dash. the only thing in there taking up any room if the heat exchanger and all that crappy hugh air ducting, but i can cut into that **** and reseal it. dead center behind the stock radio, it runs about 14 inches from the front of the dash to the fire wall, unobstructed, cool huh. i put my cat up in there through the glove box hole. little bugger didn't wanna come out. sorry kinda excited that i may actually be able to hide my HU and EQ in the dash and maybe even keep the stock POS in place for stealth style's.
i love old POS, there great, they run like crap, smell funny, and chicks laugh at you, but hey, when it's peakin 140+ (convertable remember) there gonna shut up real soon.

You can buy Rhino-hide like stuff at most car supply stores: AutoZone, PepBoys, etc that goes on with a roller. It would be my first choice.
Second choice would be undercoating, in either a can for roller application or a spray can. Not as thick as the Liner stuff and it stinks more, but is probably cheaper...
