I'm modifying the seats of my ford ranger (92) to accept PPI A404.2's. Each seat will have one amplifier in them. I took apart a seat and found that it has a single layer of metal as a frame, with one lumbar support (or lack thereof ) HOLE in the frame.

This hole is not big enough to accept for the amps, but just small enough so that they can screw in horizontally, basically covering the hole. However, the material layer on the back of the seats is only 1/4" thick. Thats not big enough to "flush" the amps in any sense of the word.

Any suggestions on modifying the seats to actually make "flushed" amps? I was thinking of damping the seats and mounting an amp rack onto the back of each one, but that would be very time consuming.. Any thing else?

the seats in my 99 dont fell like that (but i have never taken them apart.)

well if you want to flush mount them just extend the back of the seats out a little.

Well i hope that gave u an idea to work with.

BTW the seats in my truck are heIIa comfortable. I slept in there once rested like a baby.
