When you say "paint the resin on the surface" before applying the cloth vertically, is the surface aluminum foil? masking tape? what do you reccomend? I was gonna spray glue my aluminum foil in the trunk. Then I was going to paint resin and lay cloth. Is this a good game plan?

I know i'm not mabeita but I think its in reference to my post... I'm going to use masking tape that works real well... I used that on my rear deck and had good success with it...
I think when he said 'paint' it on first he meant mix up the resin and apply a thin layer so the cloth or whatever your using will have something to 'stick' to and just not the smooth surface of bare tape or foil...

Yeah basically slopping a little resin on before you put the mat/cloth on helps it stick in place. Also Tin foil works good, the fiberglass doesn't stick to it so makes a simple, cheap way to line something or hold the glass in place.

What they said. I use masking tape and mold release wax to cover any parts of the car that I don't want to get resin on.
