I've heard there are easier ways to work with fibreglass, other than laying down mat. Are there sprayers etc. that are used in mass production of fibreglass products? What's a guy need to do this?

For manufacturing, they make an item called a 'chop gun' that takes strips of fibreglass mat, chops it into pieces, introduces resin and hardener, and shoots the whole mess out into the form.
Figreglass shells and tonneaus are made this way - as well as MOST other fibreglass stuff.

Chop gun, I've heard that term before. There's a body work/fibreglass manufacturing company that just went under a couple of months ago in my area. They used to make hot tubs, miniature speed boats and some fibreglass tonneau covers (for Top Up I believe). I should see what if anything became of the equipment.
Anyone got any idea what this stuff is worth.

Chop guns and other tools aren't what I would consider industrial equipment, they're available/accessible to everyone.
"Industrial" would be something like the 3D Laser scanners that Molded Fiberglass Corp uses for making models for molds, and their CNC's for cutting molds.. and the 2,000 ton presses they use for fabricating parts. =)
There are also variants of chop guns.. some do not introduce resin, they just shoot chopped mat like a salad shooter..
Shooting catalyzed resin through a gun opens up some other big headache avenues, I dont recommend that to anyone that hasnt had a ton of fiberglass experience. =)
