I have been racking my brain about this great idea I have for an amp rack. Please tell me the general cost and how long it takes to build an amp rack in the trunk lid of a 2000 Jetta. Is this possible?
I have been told by many that this is a good idea and is very neat but no one has been able or willing to give me the lowdown about the time it takes, the cost required, and how exactly this rack is built.

Please reply soon. I plan to have this install done in a month.

Building the stuff into your trunklid won't be the hard part. Keeping your trunk open, will...

LMAO!! No kidding. Dumbazz...

I love it when you see the 'custom' jimmy stick - you know, the clear acrylic one or the painted railing bannister. I mean, these guys actually spend time on making a band aid look decent...

I used to have two rockford punch 4080s and a punch 200 in my trunk lid. The car was a beretta. All I did was put two extra gas shocks on the truck lid and it opened by itself. Word of advice, be careful! When I did it, I wasn't paying attention and one of the screws was too long and it pooked a hole in the outer skin.. Live and learn. It looked good. Pain in the ass if you ever have to change wiring or anything though.

How did you feed the wiring to the amps in the trunk lid? Did you thread the wires through the trunk support bars, zip-tie the wires to the bars, or something else?

I ran all the wires through the tubes that were the trunk lid brackets. Was the biggest pain in the ass wire job I have ever done.
