I guess this question would go in this forum.... But anyway, my trunk just started leaking and I don't know where it's coming from. The moisture just killed my rather ragged floor board, and I was wondering if anyboys got any tips on tracking down trunk leaks and plugging them up. Thanks!

WELL, there are a number of things you could do. the cheapest i can think of though would be to buy some smoke bombs and set one of in the trunk. you will soon know were the leak is....

smoke bombs are non-flammable. i don't think that they even get hot. unless you using some tricked out stuff you ripped from the ETF or something.

i was just thinking about this thoug, cause my ****y lebaron convert leaks in the trunk some where. i was thinking you could lay newspaper every where, and then nail it with the hose along all the seams for a while. then check the newspaper. it will give you a rough idea of when it's coming from.

My grirlfriends car leaked for a very long time and still does and it came from the wheel wells rusting out. She would have a good two to three inches of water onh the bottom of the car. Used Fiberglass and bondo to fix the problem but still hasn't gone away. Well i hope that you find the problem.

I had a similar prob once my trunks seal came lose and was leting water leak into it, ruined a spare tire by not being found till about a year after it started happening. Anyway I found that gasket material works very well, but you need to use the high temp high pressure kind like you use on valve covers, its blue in color and is messy for you hands, but I used it like 3 years ago and haven't had a leak since.

Yea, my spare tire got all rusted out (but stragely, the trunk only has a layer of rust on it, though no real damage, just alot of rust dust). I just ripped out everything out of my truk and I'm making a false floor to flush mont my amp in, so I think I'm just gonna caulk every crack I see and be done with it. I'll see about checking my seals (I didn't even think about that) Thanks for the Help!
