Like it says I will be adding two 15" screen, in the trunk lid of a 96 Impala SS. A friend of mine said we need to build a base from 1/4 MDF and then have frame work for the screens and strech fleeze over that? Dose that soubd right ? I don't want it to be to heavy I plan on have 2 15" tveiw rew screen and a set of 5.25 or 6.5 coaxials as well. Is there any other way to build it? The base for starting off I mean

I have acuators mounted on the hidges, so that moves the trunk up and down.. I also did leave the torsion bars for even more support for lifting it. Should I do the backing out of fiberglass or 1/4 board OK? dose it have to be MDF can I use birch?

birch will work, keep in mind when you pull the fabric the pressure can warp the backing also the drying of the resin will pull on whatever your using, so a solid secure foundation is a must.
