Anyone have any pics of swinging amp racks? The amps are on a rack that pivots on the side or pulls out of the back of the vehicle. I know people have built them but I don;t remember where I've seen them. Trying to get ideas for my final install.
Thanks.

Pivoting and moving is only half the trick. Having the wiring kept hidden is something else you have to figure out when designing.

Thats my van from 2002. Im pretty sure I have some pics of the woring somewhere. Ill try to find them. But it was supre clean and opened and closed withou have to touch or arrange the wiring. It fell into place when it was closed.

The hinge you see is not the hinge for the rack, that's just a hinge on the center bar. Look at the left end of it. You undo the lock clasp on the end and that bar swings out. Then the amps could be removed. With that bar shut, the amps are held securly into the rack.
The real hinge for the rack is at the top and bottom of that round pipe you see. I'm not sure if they used bearings or just a good interference fit, but either way, it's a nice design. Kudos to the fabrication team.
