I put second skin in behind my plastic piece on my trunk. (there's 3 or 4 plastic screws on the top by the lights, and 2 bolts inside the trunk)

I also have SS behind the licence plate. it doesn't rattle at all.

ya i did that trim panel piece [Wink]
my main problem is that its made to only have the two top bolts for the liscence plate [Frown]
if it had 4 i wouldnt have any rattling now!

o well not every car can be built as tuff as my truck [Wink]

to get around that, take your licence plate off, put a few extra layers towards the bottom where the licence plate will be. that way it'll fit in there really nice and snug. I'll see if I can get a pic for you

 -

 -

^^ that's what I was talking about.. no rattles at all

thanks ill try that alittle more as well. already did alittle of it BUT i just didnt want to put it on so thick that those plastic screws or other 3nuts.... just didnt want the panel to stick out alot.

eventualy i need to buy some of that brush on deadener and that would probably be the best to coat both pieces with.
another question tho it looks like the CIVIC and EX rear emblems are just glued on, are they just glued on?
im considering two options, buying 2 new ones paint them and stick em back on, or just take em and leave em off....
and i need to get a comparison shot tomorow but the liscence plate tint looks alot darker from a distance.LMFAO not to mention some what of a reflection comen off the tint, so i might have to pull it and just do a regular tinted cover.

WELL ANYWAYS. new progress. riped out the old cd player cause SONYS SUCK! not to mention it didnt play MP3s which counts out half my cds i carry around [Frown]

and i must say this clarion looks so much beter with the chrome and black face!
 -
 -
sorry pictures kinda suck BUT ive been yanken out wires, untaping, crimping wires all afternoon, and also starting to strip the truck, my hands hear, my screw driver handle twisted and i REALY basted myself in my jaw (which realy hurt!) i was pushen upwards and when it twisted the handle i fell forwards... [Frown] thats smarts! still tasting blood. and my leg has been hurting all day like i twisted it somehow, PLUS my vacation ended yesterday and im tired....
so only important thing that matters is i love my clarion mp3 player ; ) and it sounds great!
i even tightened up the dash trim piece so now it doesnt slop around! not to mention saving the car from burnen up.... not only where half the screws not tight or MISSING IN ACTION..... well he did buy a aftermarket harness BUT CHEAP twist in tape which was only taped HALF WAY... shocking the dam thing didnt short out on all that metal behind the dash! like i said originaly with the radio instal... AMMATURES!!!!!

if my leg fells beter tomorow after work ill strip the truck of its RE 6.5 comps and throw them in [Big Grin]
i gotta love recycling. only sad thing was ripen out my monitor in my truck [Frown] thiers no place to fit it in the civic... so to use video i either need a flip out or double din type radio.... either way it will be along time till i get that! [Frown] god i need a beter job!

lol @ the job part.

lemme know how the re comps fit in your doors. wait.. you have a 2dr.. I think it's different than mine.

I was thinking of doing the consol swap from a 99-00 into my 96.. I like the rotary knobs better than my slide ones (for climate control) I could prolly pick one up for a few bucks on a honda forum.

I took my friends 98 EX out after work a little bit ago.. I didn't notice much difference between their y8 and my y7.. so I said screw the minime.. I'll just turbo it

oh.. I forgot.. yes, the civic and ex "badges" are just glued on. if you want them off, grab a heat gun or a blow dryer and put some heat on them. after they're warmed up a bit, get a piece of fishing string and work your way through and they'll come off.

how about that honda symbol? sorry forgot about it myself.... if its bolted im definatly gonna take it off and paint it and put it back on!
just not sure about the other badges what im gonna do yet. ill probably just yank em off.

well so far i preaty much got the truck striped of its goodies besides the paging alarm system cause i have nothing to replace it with [Frown] i at least need a power door locks and just wire the lock into drivers door and unlock to passenger door.
ANYBODY GOT ONE OF THOSE LAYEN AROUND? I DONT NEED ANY ALARM OR NOTHING ELSE just remote locks. im not finding anything on ebay for once [Frown]

i started working on swaping the RE 6.5 components in a few mins ago but gotta stop for food.
but so far the tweeter i got it, had to cut out the rear alittle BUT i think i cut out to much and cut out the top snap [Frown] WOOPS guess ill just try to double side tape it up or just glue it in since ill probably never remove them!
tho lower door speaker i havent tried yet. ill start on that after i get the tweeter trim in place. LUCKELY I FOUND THE FLUSH TRIM RINGS FOR THESE TWEETERS [Big Grin] YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

well RE 6.5s instaled. sounds realy good so far tho i REALY need to run a power wire to the radio since its just wired up to the stock wires.

found a few suprises. paint guy is cheap as hell looks like he used a CHEAP clear trash bag!
so i swaped it out for some good stuff ; ) this stuff wont flake apart or tear so easily!

 -
drivers door i knew about its damage.
 -
 -
BUT passenger door WTF its got masking tape on the inside of the door.... but i couldnt see any damage on the inside so dont know why its taped on the inside of the door! tho i do know the passenger window motor seems alittle slow.

nice to see you got yours in. the magnets on my rainbows are a bit too large to fit in the door, and I don't feel like cutting metal on my car. I'm thinking about selling them and picking up a set of DD components.

the honda badge is also glued on as well. you can take it off in the same way I mentioned.

I actually built a new box for my sub today. I had to build the damn thing inside of my car. it was horrible

LOL na sorry im not that crazy. moneys tight enough [Frown]

well today i started pullen apart my old truck lights geting the good and trashing the bad.
and started fabing up brackets outta aluminum. some just L angled, and some U shaped.
mainly to hide the bulbs! cause lets face it thiers nothing worse then seeing a lit up bulbs hangen under a car [Frown]

just not as much room under this car! but im painting it all flat black so it should hide well enough under the car.
here was the trucks cathode setup i had.

so far it looks like its comen together well. my only concern is that the light might have some gaps since i couldnt put em end to end or overlap them like i had in the truck.
time will tell! if it is ill have to buy one green 4inch cathode dual kit and push em end to end for each side.

the rear is cut and bent around to keep the bulbs up high and also MAINLY so i can go around the exaust, an dif ya do one side ya gotta do the other so it looks the same.
tho front will not be screwed and braced together the same way due to the tow hooks on the civic! so i have to do 3 seperate pieces up front... ill finish wiring it all up tomorow and seal the transformers and bulbs up again. and hopefully sunday ill be able to bolt em all up.
and for those that dont remember the trucks cathodes heres a picture of them, which is 14 kits and this civic only needs 12 from my estimates so far.

and thiers a few of the transformers/bulbs that broke.

EDIT no work done today since my dad got his new toy in.... new tractor with quite a few goodies, mower, bucket, post hole digger, tiller, and leveler-forget name.
tractor shop got the accessories in early so i came home to him unloading it off a flat bed ; ) and been spending most the night changing accessories and trying em out.LOL 23K bucks worth of new machine! even has a cup holder in the thing.LOL

got it preaty much done now. BUT since i used the old bulbs on the sides the silicone left on the bulbs are holding them down alittle which is making them visable alittle : (
eventualy ill pull all the bulbs and either clean off the silicone or if thats not enough take it to the grinder and gring down the end squares to suck em up alittle higher.... kinda sucked finding that out : (
and i still have to fuse and wire in a switch for them. its been pooren rain out all afternoon and i didnt have any spare switches i like.

gotta love that camera option.LOL
not sure what setting its called but has a picture of a person and a moon behind it. but it picks up glow shots KILLER!!!!! it flashes several times and then processes the picture and if i dont shake much they come out like that. [Wink]

heres a few just regular shots i took with no flash

today i gotta find a nice looken switch to use. i wont mess with the bulbs to raise the ones on the side for awhile cause we remoldeling the house and my dad wants me to finish instaling his remote starter alarm system before i can instal mine.LOL

FORGOT TO SAY THO i think... but i have purchased my ORION D2400 amplifier. for use with my REaudio SX 12inch sub, and also just purchased another remote starter/paging alarm system for my civic.
nothing special about the alarm instal tho for 2 reasons, mainly i got full coverage insurance AND i park it in the garage every night-and i live out in the country. so unless they steal it in bright daylight at my job or grocery store they aint gotta get it, PLUS the cars exterior is nothing special besides tint so it shouldnt scream steal me!

looks pretty nice. I wish I could go and put led's under my car.. but I'm dropped 2.5" all around and I know I'd end up breaking them.

I can get the speakers mounted in the door panel, but the magnet is too big to fit in the hole in the door itself. I'm thinking about getting a diff set of comps anyways

well led bulbs dont break easily s those might help ya out.....
and either way you need to use some channeling to hide the bulbs! and if you think youll botom out use some THICK @SS steel channeling! that stuff will botom out and throw sparks and if anything will bend your floor before it gives way.LMFAO
i had some decently thick aluminum rails on my old impalas underbody kit and i draged it across the curb at walmart on accident one night and even tho it bent the crap outta the back corner it didnt break my neon bulb.LOL
just be sure to paint it all up real good so it doesnt rust and look crapy!

i used cold cathodes. dual 12inch kts
http://www.oznium.com/cathodes?sid=75cf77bd09b77b6fbe46b56205474be6
not bad at all for only 6.50 per pair [Wink] i used 12kits on this. tho still thinking about using at least one dual 4inch kit on the front. i also think im just gonna do green interior lights...

and with the speaker not clearing how much is it lacking?
ya might be able to make some MDF rings to space the speaker out some. and grind down the grill backing alittle.

or if ya want to do even more. try glassing over the trim rings and mount the speaker to them [Wink]
worth a shot!
