This has happened to me a couple times now. When I glass the inside of the car with about 3-4 layers, I let it cure completely before I take it out. With this one, once it was cured, it was right up against the trunk all along the edges. I took it out and added about 10 more layers. Now, theres almost a 1/2" gap all the way around. What am I doing wrong?

I recently had the same thing happen when I made a molded box like that for my wife's Camry.

I'm pretty sure that f/g shrinks normally, and the amount of catalyst you add can affect the amount of shrinkage.

Less catalyst = less shrinkage
more catalyst = more shrinkage

someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

I wonder if it's getting too hot and warping?

thats what i was thinking, whenever i run a snug fit placement piece, i make it nice and cold, unlike wrapped items where i can burn the stuff. you might have to start over bro.

live and learn I guess. I was able to build up the wrapped layers to close the gap on top. The rest still fit pretty nicely. You can see the final product here: http://audioforum.termpro.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?/ubb/get_topic/f/32/t/001693.html
