Hi guy's,
Im after some advice from anyone who's had a go at moild making. I want to make some speaker pods and other trick bits for my car and have decided to use carbon fibre, but id like to have a shiney glass finish to it. i've had a look and the best way to do it is to make moulds, get the insides perfectly smooth, and resin inside then lay the mat down. Think is, how do i make a mould? i thought about using fibreglass with will be fine, but the mould would need to open to get the finished piece out.

thanks,
Shane Walker

Sounds to me like you'd almost need to make a completed kick panel, then pull a mold from that. As you said, it seems like you'd need at least a 2 piece mold. Sorry I'm not much help.

that's a nice job he did. i did moulds of entire kick panels using plaster of paris. have to go good and thick. then need to wax coat the plaster before you lay any glass, etc on it.
