i am selling my full plexi box for my 9512 as its tuned too high and i need money anyway. i want to biuld a new MDF and fiberglass subbox this spring when it warms up. i was wondering if i would make a box up made of 1/2" MDF and then coat the outside(inside too maybe?) with fiberglass to make it 3/4"-1" thick? anyone tried this?

I don't get it, what would be the point of that? It sounds like a waste of time and materials to me. I would say, go with 3/4-1inch MDF alone, unless it's going to be a compound shape. If you want it to have a nice finish, that isn't hard. There is no reason to have a huge amount of fiberglass around the mdf, it would gain little to nothing from it. If you have questions on getting a nice finish, there should be at least a few posts already on it, in the fabrication section.
