i have a '90 s-10 and am in desperate need of midbass. i want to replace the 4x6s in the dash with a mid or a component set. is this possible? i will be doing the work myself so kickpanels or door pods aren't very feasible. any help is greatly appreciated.

Doors in that truck are wicked easy. Cut off the pocket, make a piece of 1/2" to cover the whole 'indented' area at the bottom and you are set. There's even a hole in the steel...

5s in the dash would be MUCH harder.

i never thought about that, it'll be even easier considering that the lower part of the doorpanel is starting to come off. what would be a good way to hold the wood panel to the doorpanel? thanks!

Use 1/2" screws through the plastic from the back. Large washers too.
