OK, I drive a chrysler concorde(1.5din). I used a harness to compensate for my 1 din HU. However, the HU is a tad long for the opening. My question is how would I go about making a fiberglass harness that will fill the gaps? Should I just glass my existing harnesn to the desired thickness then cut out the hole for my HU or is there a better way? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

most stereo shops sell kits made for specific cars, for bout $15 you could get one that's made to hold your HU and will compensate for the shallow dash, i bought one from metra and it fits perfect.

that's weird, mine had spacers to hold the hu 1/2" or 1" out from the dash, which brand is your dash kit? if you can't get one with spacers then i guess you could fiberglass the one you have. 1/8" isn't much to have to fill out, a couple layers of fiberglass or cloth would fill that easy.

On certain years of concodes and intrepids...95 or so....Even with the Metra Kit some radios are still too deep to fit ....the answer is to get a heat gun and "warm up" the AC vent behind the radio...When it's soft to move.....you can either hurry up and shove the radio in ...or get a Hammer Handle and push it back a little........Works all the time and there is no damage to the vent
