This might sound like insurance fruad, but I am going to school for bodywork. Go to a high price paint shop and get a quote, then tell them that you think the fram might damanged and get a quote for your truck to be put on a frame straightner, and how much that will cost. Normally to get your truck put on one will run from $400 to $1500 dollars. Odds are that she did mess up your fram. If you can live with the damage then you have a nice insurance pay out to help get your truck where you want it.

what? are you crazy? there is absolutely no way on earth that has frame damage or even close to it. look at the pictures. oviously you dont know what your talking about. that is the bed of the truck. it is an easy 6 inches away from the frame.

also why on earth would he consider trying to commit insurance fraud?? dont you know that 99 % of the time they send someone out to look at it and take pictures of the damage?? then they could tell if it has a possiblity of frame damage or not and look at what his estimate is and he would be in alot of trouble. I was hit in a similar spot a few years ago when I had my ranger. Some kid hit me doing about 45 in a thirty, no id, no insurance, no car tabs, icy conditions. After the hit I did 3 360 before hitting a snow bank. Result, replace the bed, bent frame, billet Aluminum wheel bent like a taco. Damage $4500. It also screwed up my blow through.

Hey I'm jealous!!! You got Centerline Galaxy wheels. One of the most bad ass wheels I have seen on the market to date. That is my opinion but show those wheels to anyone and they will be like, dude those rock!! I want the Galaxy II wheels, mainly because thats the only style available in 6 lug like that. Only problem, $506 each for 20x8".

Sucks that you got hit like that, but on the bright side, that is a very easy dent to push out from underneath. The repainting could get costly depending on how you have that fixed. At least its not a rearend hit where it pushed the whole bed into the back of the cab.

All he was saying is when the adjuster looks at it, to mention the frame and he may get money for it even if its not damaged. Insurance adjusters sometimes(Most times) are not really trained on what to look for and just take photos as proof of damage.Sure they can take a picture of the under-body but may just put it in not knowing any better.

You could get someone who doesn't know any better and see that the Bed is crooked. [Big Grin]

My Wife used to do this and she would use a picture of a vehicle and mark an "X" on the picture where there was damage, then take pictures of the damage.

From the looks of it you will have to re-align the bed as the body lines don't line up to the door. [Cool]

650 is cheap for that dent.
heres the deal goto a nice shop that does customs and tell them you don't want any bondo in it.
that is your choice. they will give you a qoute for a whole new bedside. the insurance company has to give you the option of using all new parts its the law (at least here in ohio).
the quote will prob be about $2500.
then once you get the check fix it anyway you like. sorry to see you got hit but. at least she had insurance.

The body shop should be able to suction cup that thing right out. Little paint and a lens from the dealer, down the road you go. But the Question is, What is you deductable??

The frame IS bent, look at the pic., where the front of the bed meets the cab,not even is it?
(It WAS in the pics. from his sounddomain page) Frames are a wierd science, you gotta look away from the dent and see the big picture. Without bondo, that will be a difficult dent to work with because of how its up against the taillight housing. How do you figure the bed has nothing to do with the frame, when it's BOLTED to it? (BTW , I like the centerlines too) Great addition to that truck, keep up the good work, you've come a long way with it!

The bed is held on by 4 bolts, the out of alignment has nothing to do with the frame [Roll Eyes] A normal bed will flex even when you go up a curb but it has nothing to do with the frame. [Cool]

Now I'm confused, if it has nothing to do with the frame, why would it "flex" going over the curb unless the axle was bolted to the bed????

You would not be able to suction cup that out! It creased the metal! Unless he wanted to do bond or fiber class work and have it start falling apart again. In that position with the bond-o will start to fall off after 3-4 years. He from the way the pic looks by the light he might need a whole new bedside. And the bed just needs to be re adjusted. If you are going to have insurance pay for it, take it to a dealer and have them quote it. Usually since its a dealer they wont second question it, and they fix every thing. On my focus some one closed the hood with out putting the stand down. And just bent the stand and put a quarter size dent in the hood. Took it to a dealer 715 bucks! New hood, All the blending, all the paint, and labor. When I took it to a friend he said that it would take him maybe a 3 days to do and it would look good as new with touch up paint and bond-o. I sold the hood on ebay for like $150, after getting the old hood back (law in MI) and getting fixed. If you take it to a High cost Custom place and get the quote done, the insurance company might send some one out and talk to the company on why the quote is so high. And since the custom place works with custom pick-up-trucks then you might be able to get away with saying that no ones else in my area can fix it. If you got it done there and you are still going in and stuff the might give the full cost and 100% on labor and every thing then cut you a deal and do it for cheaper.

Assuming insurance cares nothing about mods done to your car....your car is probably worth 1500 bucks in perfect condition(might check blue book). So if you happened to have damage to the frame, they may total it. You may want to check into it. I don't know how others have faired in this situation, but I wrecked a 10k car with minimal body damage and bent the frame and they totaled it. I got jipped cause I put about 2k into the car, but I got more from the insurance company than I would have if I would have sold it private party.
