hey neil this will also get you qualified for IASCA finals
Thanks to a consciensous member who emailed us with a question about qualifying, we are adding this update to the Finals Qualification Guidelines; it was discussed and agreed upon, but unfortunately was not added in the original email.
The Top 5 points points getters in each class and in each region will also automatically receive an invitation to the Finals, regardless of their points total for the season.
Thank you,
Moe
cant decide if i wanna drive all the way to Atlanta or not

"This is the LAST date for World Finals qualification; if you want to compete at the 2006 IASCA World Finals, this is the last weekend to do so. By competing at this show guarantees a berth to the IASCA World Finals, an invitation-only event; this year's IASCA World Finals are being hosted at the 2006 NOPI Nationals International Motorsports Event ."
I am confused. do we need 70 pts or can we get an invite with this even in GA before nopi. You posted after andy so I am guessing you are saying he is wrong.

Actually it's all a bit confusing, but I think I have it figured out for the most part. Here are the scenarios as I see them.
1. Auto qualify by competing at the "auto qualifier" in Georgia. 2. The Top 5 points points getters in each class and in each region will also automatically receive an invitation to the Finals, regardless of their points total for the season. 3. All 2005 IASCA Finals Champions in all classes will automatically receive an invite to the 2006 IASCA Finals. 4. Competitors will need to accrue 70 points in order to qualify for an automatic invitation to the 2006 IASCA Finals.
So in other words: 1. Compete at the GA auto qualifier and your in. 2. Get 70 points and your in. 3. Have the top 5 points in your class in your region and your in. 4. All 2005 Champions are automatically in.
Also note: All competitors must be current IASCA members for the 2006 season and their membership expiration date can not be any earlier than September 20th, 2006. All memberships MUST be current and in good standing no later than July 31st, 2006 at 6:00 pm (EST), there are no exceptions or extensions to this deadline.

That would be cool if the Source did some shows. I talked with Kenny abut it a few weeks ago and he wasn't sure. If they have some then I am there!

maybe this will clear some things up. this is right out of IASCA's office. There is no auto qualifier show. The event in GA will not get you an invite to IASCA world finals. its just the name of the show. it is a 2x event , but thats all.

Just heard about this thread and thought I should chime in...
I'd like to elaborate on what Trouble posted and hopefully clear the air.
"1. Compete at the GA auto qualifier and your in. 2. Get 70 points and your in. 3. Have the top 5 points in your class in your region and your in. 4. All 2005 Champions are automatically in."
Numbers 2,3 and 4 are correct, but number 1 is not. The name of that event has caused some confusion; competing at that event does not automatically qualify you for an invite to the Finals; however it is a double point event and will get you the extra points.
If you are within the top 5 in your class and region, no matter how many points you've accrued, you will also qualify for an invitation as long as your membership is current until September 18th, 2006 or later. You must also make sure that your membership is current and renewed BEFORE July 31st, 2006.
All qualification guidelines are posted in the announcements sections of the IASCA forum. If anyone has any questions, I would be more than happy to answer them; simply send me an email (no PMs) and I will respond within 24 hours.
Thanks,
Moe

Sorry for posting information that was not correct. I believe the name of the show needs to be changed so it will not cause anymore confusion. I was getting that part of my information from Andy's post which looks to have been copied from maybe the IASCA site or the other linked site.
EDIT: I see the show's name has now been changed to Atlanta Pre-World Finals Show. I have also changed Andy's post about the auto qualifying.
