I already know the answer, but I was informed by a major RF rep in the Charlotte area that TREO's 177.7 last year was a joke b/c someone this year using RF equipment at IDBL hit 181db.....I tried to explain that Chris Norris, Jaime De Le PAz, and Art Turgeon were the only RF heavy hitters I knew of and none of them had hit "181" but he swore someone did it...He conveniently didn't know any names of competitors......I'll show the guy this thread tomorrow so guys please be gentle with the "comments".......Or any other words, what a dumb azz this guy was to rep a great company like RF.....I don't take to time to "argue with fools" b/c you become foolish yourself when that happens.......Holla back fam.... i think Chris Norris did the 181 twice before they figured out the mic cable was cut. After they replaced the cable he did low 170's.

As a judge who was THERE at SBN, and engaged to the head IDBL judge for SBN I can say with utmost certainty - nobody hit 181. The highest SPL score recorded was a 172.4 from Team Mpak - a white Hearse, and not using Rockford.

Chris Norris, at an IDBL in West Virginia last year, at SSR, hit a fluke 181 on a meter with a bad power cord. I mic'd that car myself as I was head IDBL judge at the event. The power cord and the mic cord were both replaced, and he followed up with a 172db. As that was a faulty wire causing the score, that 181 did not stand and is not a legitimate recordation.

The RF rep in your area is woefully misinformed.

Not harsh, merely the truth. Nothing against RF, only have problems with idiots making outlandish claims in an effort to sell their equipment. Especially when the claims are SOOOOo easily verifiable/deniable nowadays.
