it has been in the books for a while now, but i guess the state laws are more strict then the countys,
Maryland
» State law that will now be enforced:

No device, including ATVs, can emit noise past 75 decibels between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. and 55 decibels between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m. Police

officers can issue citations up to $10,000.

they say they now (the county) have these $2000 meters . i wonder which one that are using, cause every meter we have "silence" is over 55db

guess we cant mow the lawn or start the cars anymore

What is the distance on the law. In my town ship it's even tighter.

Daytime is 55Db at your propretys edge. Road way is 75 Db with any thing motorzied.

Nighttime is 45Db on proprety.

I have had the police at my house numorus times for noise complaints and have baffeled them every time.

40Db A WHISPER, A NORMAL CONVERSATION IS 60 DB, NORMAL SOUND 70 DB -REF.1.1983

Welcome to the power of the State of Federal Supreme Court. If you get a citation fight it and eventually it will get to the State Supreme Court unless the appellate court rules in your favor. THEN say "Goodbye" to the retarded law.

I was pulled over by a State Patrol in Tacoma. I was heading east towards Puyallup in Washington State. After he pulled me over he said he could hear my car more than 150 feet away as I flew past him on the highway. Instead of giving me a ticket of some kind, he asked me to play some country music for him because he wanted to see what it sounded like with a big stereo system. After I played him a couple songs, he said thanks and drove away....
