Hey guys, i know iīm reviving this one month old thread, but iīm a newbie on NW class here at Panama, i found this thread on the Search tool, i have a DD 3518 DVC 2 ohms and my TL score SUCKS!! hahaha, the box is 4.5 c/f and 12" aeroport , i scored 148.9 dbs wih a Cadence C6 (6000.1) and only a Kinetik HC1800 battery, for a rookie itīs not that bad, but i really need some pointers!!

I have sub up / port back on a Suzuki wift 2009 hatchback car, i tried moving the box around and worst! what mistakes am i making?? of course iīm getting 3 extra batteries for the comp thatīs in 10 days!! thatīs why iīm in such a rush! box is to big?? port is to big for 6K? damnnnnn!! :S

Another thing, the frequency is around 58 hz and i did that score with 50 hz tone, i tried adding some inches to the aeroport and my score was lower and same peak frequency, is the box too large thn??? hellllppppp [Frown]

you could shorten the port, or add things inside the box to bring the volume down, both of those will raise tuning frequency of the box. Thats a HUGE port!!!!!

hehe, thanks for the post bro, yes itīs a huge port, i did it that way because i have True 6K for the sub, i did the test of adding things inside the box and yes, i added things inside the box and it scored 0.2 dbs more, no problems there, just need to cut a little the box and thatīs it, but here is the thing, still peaking at 50 hz after that!!

Call me a noob if you want because i am, but, i always thought and external port is just like a port inside the box, the longer the lower tuning, the shorter higher tuning, the guys that built the box told me that iīm wrong!! That a external aeroport, the longer the higher is the tuning, is this truth????? Iīm asking that, because the port is 16" long, should be tune at 50 hz peaking around 58 hz and itīs not, itīs 16" long and 4.5 c/f internal volume, and itīs peaking at 50 hz! So, i have to short the port or get it longer????

shorter = higher. more port = higher.

So, with that 12" aeroport, if the carīs frequency is around 56 hz and not 50 hz, my port should be about 10" long instead of 16" long?
